Obama's talking points on legality of Massachusetts "buffer zone" were rejected 9-0 in the Supreme Court

Even the Supreme Court, not exactly the bastion of orthodoxy and common sense, unanimously rejected Obama's amicus brief in McCullen v Coakley.

Not a single sitting Justice bought into it. The 'buffer zone' was even described as 'unconstitutional'.

But even a fool could see the Massachusetts 'buffer zone' statute violated constitutional law that pertain to free speech.

The highest ranking official in the United States and upholder of the Constitution had his lawyers produce an amicus brief he knew was unconstitutional.

It is mind boggling.

The Constitution of the United States is a gonner in Massachusetts. We have not had access to US Constitutional rights for at least five years. Possibly more - time flies when you're having fun.

I have a friend who will often say - Massachusetts is where liberty began in this country and where liberty will end, where slavery was overthrown and where it will be reinstituted.

Cardinal O'Malley issued a press release saying they are tickled pink by the SCOTUS ruling.

The press release comes as a surprise to the prolife community in Boston.

To the best of our knowledge, at no time did they ever lift a pinky to assist Bill Cotter at Boston's Operation Rescue, Eleanor McCullen or the legal team. The Mass Catholic Conference was nowhere to be found. There was no amicus brief submitted on their behalf. He has never joined those in prayer outside of the clinic and has in fact, treated these heroic prolifers like his closet relatives.

Also, as our friends at BCI have pointed out, the press release comes across as hypocritical given the Cardinal is gaga for proabortion politicians. (It is also interesting to note that the "Ethicspoint" complaint system is a complete sham.)

Margery Egan has some advice for Pope Francis: It's time to start smoking dope.

Here's the column.

Local Catholic hero CJ Doyle said everything there is to say in his letter to the editor:

To the Editor:

Margery Eagan's gift for trivializing any subject was apparent, once more, in her column on the Pope's opposition to the legalization of drugs, (Eagan: Light up---and lighten up, Pope Francis, 6/21/2014).

Eagan's impertinent suggestion that the Holy Father experiment with marijuana raises an interesting question. Has Eagan herself used this controlled substance?

If so, we may have discovered a convincing chemical explanation for the decades of impaired logic, factual imprecisions, and plodding intellectual indolence displayed by Margery Eagan.

Sincerely,

A Jesus without interest in morals.

Was I dreaming or did he not announce he was going to ferme la bouche for a while?

Here we were thinking we would have a respite from kooky theology now coming at us from the Romans.

It's a cruel world!

The newspapers are splashing the headlines: Pope Francis said Jesus was a pastor without interest in morals. A jolly bloat who was just happy to be with his peeps. And they were happy to be with him.

Get it?

Christ was chased out of every town He visited, cruelly executed by the mad mob with only three people standing under His Crucified Corpus because... the people really, really loved the things He said.

Take the time to read the entire article.

Jesus Christ, who called people among other things... snakes,a brood of vipers, dogs, swine, son of the devil, simply 'brought wonder to their hearts, the wonder of finding something good, great'.

Hmmmm...

Why then did they kill the Man?

If the crowds so 'astonished' with the Via Dolorosa of happy, joyful, warm people who reach the heart, why would they execute eleven of His Apostles?

I'm wondering all right.

We are all wondering: Who and what is Pope Francis talking 'bout?

Who is this Christ disinterested in moral theology who goes along to get along?

I like that plan better than the one where we teach moral theology and they persecute and kill us all for it.

Still, I cannot reconcile the Person of Christ the Pope is speaking about and the fiat he describes to the one witnessed in Scripture.

It is disconcerting.

I am sincerely trying to get the underlying message in the Pope's latest homily and I have narrowed it down to two things:

1. He is asking us to believe the millions of martyrs who went before us were executed for being nice.
2. He's here to tell us the 2000 years of martyrs teaching moral theology have been going about it all wrong.

This sissification of Christ seems, at least to me, to be contradicted by Christ Himself, the New Testament and 2000 years of Roman Catholic theology.

For instance, how does he reconcile his theology about Christ with what Christ Himself said about St. John the Baptist?

For John had been saying to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife...

This is he of whom it is written: Behold I send my angel before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee. For I say to you: Amongst those that are born of women, there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist.

Pope Francis refers to St. John the Baptist as a moralistic, quibbling pharisee. Christ says he is his angel sent before thy face and the greatest prophet who ever lived.

This contradiction and caricature of Christ and the evangelization of our religion is deeply disturbing.

While Canon 15 is the religious law that carries out the precept of Christ that what is holy should not be given to the dogs, Pope Francis instructs priests to disobey Canon law.

The pastoral common sense that you do not feed the Eucharist into a soul who has lost the ability to intellectually combat the spiritual warfare within because it drives them to self destruction has gone out the window with this papacy.

We need a pastor like that about as much as we need an oncologist who gives out tickets to the theater to cure cancer.

Relieve us of our vices sir, through the the teaching of moral theology, which is absolutely necessary for right judgment that ultimately drives the soul to the Sacrament of Confession.

We have friends and relatives to make us feel cozy and warm.

We come to the ordained to receive Sacramental Graces in the Sacraments.

Withholding moral theology from our people, as the world is drawing them into confusion, may save your hide from martyrdom but it is the antithesis of the role of the baptized and ordained.

Stand up and fight for the souls of your people, of Christ's people.

Perhaps we will see another clarification from the Romans about Pope Francis' redaction of the pursuit of morality and purity from 2000 years of theology?

I hope so.

It is half past time for vacation.

Please. Go on vacation.

This video message from Fr. Nicholson is most timely and efficacious. He articulates everything I wanted to say and couldn't.

These days, people do not get angry at injustice...be good little boys..do not get into fights. When little boys act like little boys, we tranquilize them and try to get them to act like little girls. This incapacity to get angry is not a virtue, but evidence of a great internal problem. The inability to get angry is a distinctive result of an inordinate desire and attachment to pleasure...

Purity needs a public relations campaign to give it a better profile. Purity is interpreted as living a frustrated and unhappy life but nothing could be further than the truth. Purity of heart is the occasion by which we can see God. This finding and feeling of God is the tremendous source of happiness and cheerfulness.

Amen Father, amen.

The Pope is Pooped

The Pope is curtailing his audiences and daily Masses at Casa Santa Marta.

No homilies from Casa Santa Marta?

What will we talk about in blogosphere?

I hope the reports on his health are exaggerated.

He certainly has my prayers.

Pope Francis' Obsession with Money Continues

Pope Francis Praises Impact Investing

His administration is organizing the loons at the "Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace", the most well-known heretical college in the United States and the most well known Catholic apostolate investing in abortion to talk about how to recruit rich people to follow Jesus' instructions about virtuous circle of profit and solidarity.

You remember when Jesus found the people putting millstones around the necks of children and financing the murders of the innocents and told them they are in their inner circle of virtue and solidarity if they make charitable contributions?

Me neither.

If you invest in abortion, morally and spiritually twist generations of children, so long as you tithe you are virtuous and in Pope Francis circle of solidarity.

I have a good idea what image to use for the chotchkies of the event: The picture of Dorian Gray.

Might be time to change the blog name again. I think we have the picture of what the Pope is really saying. And not saying.

Pope Francis finally talks about the Catechism.

There was a lot of talk about money before he got there - but the word 'Catechism' has finally crossed his lips.

Who pays for the price for the corruption of a prelate? The children pay who cannot make the sign of the cross, who do not know the Catechism, who are not cared for.

His homily seems to indicate he sees rich peoplle -the love of money and power - as the start of the chain of events causing the corruption depriving our children of Catechesis and salvation.

I don't know about that. Many observing would characterize an out of control/sinful pursuit of money and power as a symptom of corruption, not the cause.

Catholics observing the diabolical disorientation would opine that 99.9% of what is going down all around us is the rejection of Church teaching on human sexuality, which he poo-poos in the public square as trivial substance our people do not have to make judgments on when they are attracted to it.

Once that sin takes root in a soul, it is rocket fuel for personal flaw, pride, avarice, envy, etc., and the person compensates for their low self-esteem with the pursuit of material things and power.

He is feeding the root cause of corruption and boohooing about the symptoms. This is why so many educated Catholics are exasperated and have had just about enough of his trajectory, God bless and protect the man.

Did Vatican Redact Curse on Christendom Uttered by imam at "prayer for peace"?

Interesting reading here.

Pope Francis reportedly admits that 99% of people in the Holy See advised him of the imprudence and scandal.

Really?

He tunes out 99% of the people around him?

This reminds me of that old joke where a guy is stranded in a flood with a firm conviction that God will save him.

A terrible storm came into a town and local officials sent out an emergency warning that the riverbanks would soon overflow and flood the nearby homes. They ordered everyone in the town to evacuate immediately.

A faithful Christian man heard the warning and decided to stay, saying to himself, “I will trust God and if I am in danger, then God will send a divine miracle to save me.”

The neighbors came by his house and said to him, “We’re leaving and there is room for you in our car, please come with us!” But the man declined. “I have faith that God will save me.”

As the man stood on his porch watching the water rise up the steps, a man in a canoe paddled by and called to him, “Hurry and come into my canoe, the waters are rising quickly!” But the man again said, “No thanks, God will save me.”

The floodwaters rose higher pouring water into his living room and the man had to retreat to the second floor. A police motorboat came by and saw him at the window. “We will come up and rescue you!” they shouted. But the man refused, waving them off saying, “Use your time to save someone else! I have faith that God will save me!”

The flood waters rose higher and higher and the man had to climb up to his rooftop.

A helicopter spotted him and dropped a rope ladder. A rescue officer came down the ladder and pleaded with the man, "Grab my hand and I will pull you up!" But the man STILL refused, folding his arms tightly to his body. “No thank you! God will save me!”

Shortly after, the house broke up and the floodwaters swept the man away and he drowned.

When in Heaven, the man stood before God and asked, “I put all of my faith in You. Why didn’t You come and save me?”

And God said, “Son, I sent you a warning. I sent you a car. I sent you a canoe. I sent you a motorboat. I sent you a helicopter. What more were you looking for?”

Cardinal O'Malley reveals there is a group of episcopal luminaries trying to come up with moral analysis to allow Catholics to disobey their conscience and 'go forward'

Several years back Boston Catholics were astounded to learn that Cardinal O'Malley had entered into a contract with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide abortions to women at Caritas Christi by subcontracting an abortionist and giving the women who wanted one a free cab ride to receive it.

The Cardinal's Cabinet Secretary for Health and Human Services, Fr. Bryan Hehir, brokered the deal.

A big huge donnybrook broke out in the public square.

You can find it on google but here are a few links, HERE - and an excellent round up HERE.

At first, the Cardinal denied it was happening but the Commonwealth contradicted his denials and provided details of the arrangement.

Once the cat was out of the bag, the punch-on became really ugly when Cardinal O'Malley said the arrangement was consistent with Church teaching on the sanctity of life.

Faithful Catholics informed Cardinal O'Malley it...you know...actually wasn't in accord with Church teaching on the sanctity of life.

The Cardinal responded to the criticism of the arrangement with a blog post announcing that Catholics objecting to the subcontracting of abortions were doing "a great disservice to the Church" but "recognizing the complexity of the proposed arrangement", he asked the National Catholic Bioethics Center to provide him with an opinion.

At the time, it seemed rather weird that the Cardinal saw 'complexity' in ethical judgments about hiring a subcontractor to perform abortions and giving people transportation to the abortion facility.

The arrangement required Catholic doctors and nurses to offer pregnant women abortion, a collaboration that actually carries a sentence of excommunication. Then, you have the spiritual misfeasance of entrapping the people at the abortion clinic to commit the murder and pay them for it out of proceeds from the contract with the Commonwealth. There is nothing 'complex' about making judgments about the spiritual and physical homicides in the arrangement.

As any half-wit could figure out it was the parties involved in subcontracting murder doing 'the great disservice to the Church' - not to mention all the souls he was entrapping into the loss of salvation, we found it impossible to believe it required a second opinion from ethical experts, but that is precisely what happened:

To be perfectly clear, Caritas Christi will never do anything to promote abortions, to direct any patients to providers of abortion or in any way to participate in actions that are contrary to Catholic moral teaching and anyone who suggests otherwise is doing a great disservice to the Catholic Church. We are committed to the Gospel of Life and no arrangement will be entered into unless it is completely in accord with Church teaching.
Recognizing the complexity of the proposed arrangement, I will ask the National Catholic Bioethics Center to review the arrangement and to provide me their opinion.

A word to the wise: Don't ever get into a taxicab from a Chancery. If the government ever legalizes ethnic cleansing, we can count on Catholic Bishops to help them get the ball rolling.

I am recounting this surreal story because it has come to the attention of Boston Catholics that Cardinal O'Malley is once again having trouble making moral and ethical judgments on Obamacare.

However, when Cardinal O'Malley was asked whether American Catholics should obey laws that violate God's law, he responded, "The question is complicated."

He went on to further confuse the issue: "This is a very complicated issue, and it's something the church is struggling with right now, and trying to come up with a moral analysis in order to be able to allow people to form their consciences and to go forward."

He's got to be kidding.

Somewhere, there is group of episcopal luminaries sitting in a room 'struggling to come up with moral analysis' that contradicts Christ's witness to be faithful to God, even to the point where a government will put you to death before you violate your conscience.

I am actually freaking out.

It's complicated?

Very complicated?

Who is in the room?

What kind of a moron would even accept an invitation to get into room to try to figure it out?

It's a no-brainer.

We can't do it. That is what the Life of Christ was entirely about.

The answer is all in one symbol: The Corpus of Christ hangs from a Crucifix to memorialize how to respond to civil laws that violate God's laws.

I don't have the bandwidth to deal with idiocy today. I have to calm down. But we will have to get to the bottom of who is in the room and disrupt their initiative to 'complicate' 2000 years of following the moral analysis of Jesus Christ.

Please see below.

U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
as Dysfunctional as U.S. Congress
by Robert L. Hale
fitzgerald griffin foundation

MINOT, ND -- The bureaucracy of the Catholic Church in the United States is trying to be as useless, conflicted, counterproductive, and harmful to lay Catholics as the U.S. Congress is to the American people.

America's Bishops are confusing Catholics by using double speak, being indecisive, and being politically correct. Their posturing has, and is, causing great harm to the Church in America.

A case in point: In June 2012, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) unanimously stated that the contraception-sterilization-abortifacients regulation of the Obama administration's Affordable Care Act was an "unjust and illegal mandate and a violation of personal civil rights."

Following the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. earlier this month, Cardinal Sean O'Malley, the archbishop of Boston and chair of the USCCB's Committee on Pro-Life Activities, was asked if this regulation violates God's law. He responded, "The regulation that imposes abortion and sterilization, this is a violation of God's law."

So far, so good; here is the rest of the story.

In a letter to Congress, the American Bishops wrote, "Those who help provide health care, and those who need such care for themselves and their families, should not be forced to choose between preserving their religious and moral integrity and participating in our health care system."

As I Catholic, I do not wish to engage in calumny, particularly involving a Cardinal or Bishop of the Church I love. I do not believe my comments are such.

I believe that the Catholic hierarchy is obligated to be clear and concise when it comes to defining God's law. I believe that the hierarchy has a duty, as difficult as it may be, to "uncomplicate" the issues that Catholics face when it comes to their faith and how we should live as Catholics in our secular society.

Cardinal O'Malley has failed to meet this obligation.

I agree with the Cardinal that a moral analysis is in order.

The Affordable Care Act regulation mandating that Americans (including Catholics) must fund contraception-sterilization-abortifacients did not appear yesterday. The mandate is now several years old; the implementation is upon us.

It is difficult to believe the "moral analysis" to which Cardinal O'Malley refers has not been done. The fact that it has not been done indicates something is terribly wrong with the hierarchy.

I submit that what is wrong is a failure of the hierarchy to be decisive on a matter that demands decisiveness. Delay is not a valid option; it is simply an excuse to sustain the status quo and leave the Catholic laity without much-needed direction.

Was this same lack of decisiveness on the part of the hierarchy responsible, at least in part, for the fact that Catholics practice artificial birth control and obtain abortions at the same rate as American society as a whole?

When asked if Catholic members of Congress could vote for a bill that funds contraception-sterilization-abortifacients, the Cardinal ducked the question. The answer is that, of course, they can vote for such a mandate. However, he failed to tell the complete truth; that by doing so, those Congressmen would be putting their everlasting souls in jeopardy.

Instead, Cardinal O'Malley said, "It's complicity, but it's not immediate, obviously. I mean, just as anyone who votes for an individual who votes for, in a very remote way - but, you know, people's motivation in all of these things can be very complicated, and they can have different reasons for doing things, and sometimes they see what they're doing is the lesser of two evils. But we're trying to form consciences so that people will realize how important and how central the Gospel of Life is to the social teaching of the Church."

What did the Cardinal say in the preceding 89 words? Not a thing. No moral analysis. No answer. According to the Cardinal, it is complicated -- but he is trying to form consciences.
The Cardinal's rhetoric reminds me of two things. The first is Christ's description of what He would do with the tepid; the second is what St. John Chrysostom said paved the road to Hell.

Here Comes The Big Tent?

Somebody sent me a link and expressed their concerns about the upcoming synod on the family.

It's from December but I thought it worth sharing.

This is kinda smelly.

“This witness,” the Bishop of Rome emphasized, “pertain to the People of God, a People of prophets, in its entirety. By the gift of the Holy Spirit, the members of the Church possess a ‘sense of faith’. This is a kind of ‘spiritual instinct’ that makes us ‘sentire cum Ecclesia’ [think with the mind of the Church] and to discern that which is in conformity with the apostolic faith and is in the spirit of the Gospel. Of course, the ‘sensus fidelium’ [sense of the faithful] cannot be confused with the sociological reality of a majority opinion. It is, therefore, important—and one of your tasks—to develop criteria that allow the authentic expressions of the ‘sensus fidelium’ to be discerned. … This attention is of greatest importance for theologians. Pope Benedict XVI often pointed out that the theologian must remain attentive to the faith lived by the humble and the small, to whom it pleased the Father to reveal that which He had hidden from the learned and the wise.

You think he was thinking Lumen Gentium and it got lost in the cavern between the brain and translation?

It would seem so, as he mentions the sensus fidelium has nothing to do with majority opinion but I am perplexed as to why the Pope doesn't see the danger in this useless exercise in a period of history where the faithful have been deprived of Catechesis for fifty years.

Sadly, you can't just let people get up and talk about the feelings they have about what Church teaching because Sister Wearthepants has been calibrating Church teaching for the overwhelming majority of Catholics.

The status of affairs should be patently clear to the Pope. The execution of the concept was played out when he selected Cardinal Kasper to orchestrate a free for all with his see of Bishops. It ended in a train wreck that caused a scandal and lack of trust in the agenda of his leadership.

Leadership is a bit like engineering. There are many facets to executing an objective. Spiritual leadership adds a whole other dimension that requires discernment on the audience, players, education level, time in history, place.

What substance to I have in front of me?
What are the goals?
How can I accomplish them under these circumstances?

We have a problem with faithfulness in the see of Bishops. The see of Bishops saturates their unfaithfulness into the formation of priests. The poorly formed priests saturate their unfaithfulness into the parish and schools. Those of us who somehow managed to escape it with Sacramental Grace wage the battle for the salvation of souls inside of our homes and relationships with the people we love.

After fifty years of it, there is no place on earth where you can assemble Catholics and invite them to inform the Holy Father what Church teaching is all about.

Not even with the Pope's own see of Bishops.

This is neither the time nor the place in history to assemble the village idiots to inform the Pope.

Pray for us St Anthony, Hammer of Heretics

Blessed Feast of St. Anthony who was also known as the Hammer of Heretics.

With the zeal of an apostle he undertook to reform the morality of his time by combating in an especial manner the vices of luxury, avarice, and tyranny. The fruit of his sermons was, therefore, as admirable as his eloquence itself. No less fervent was he in the extinction of heresy, notably that of the Cathares and the Patarines, which infested the centre and north of Italy, and probably also that of the Albigenses in the south of France, though we have no authorized documents to that effect. Among the many miracles St. Anthony wrought in the conversion of heretics

Quite contrary to the antics of friars of scandal-plagued St. Anthony's Shrine in Downtown Boston.

Boston Catholics have been reporting conduct and scandalous theology of the friars at the Shrine for many years. All the way up to the Holy See.

Even when a Catholic who writes gay porn penned a book about the sex lives of the friars, everyone up to and including the Holy See turned a deaf ear.

For many years the friars had a nudge-nudge-wink-wink relationship with the porn writer who surely must have loved Our Lord and searching for a relationship with Him and His Church. They told him detailed stories of their sexcapades right up until the day he published their memoirs in his book. Then, the friars turned on him and ran him out of Christ's Church.

"....author of homosexual "romance" novels, told local media that he was not surprised that some backlash had come with the publication of his "gay memoir." But he said he was "kind of speechless" that it had come from the Franciscan friars of St. Anthony’s where [redacted] had served as a lector at Mass for years.

"I anticipated in my book that perhaps the archdiocese might boot me out, but it never occurred to me that it would be the friars," he told the Boston Globe. "I am still kind of speechless - I am on some level amazed that it came from the friars, since these guys sat through interviews with me for the express purpose of this book."

(Several Archdiocesan priests also participated in providing their scandalous conduct to our brother.)

From time to time, I think about this man whose relationship with Christ must have suffered terribly because of the scandalous conduct of the friars and pray for him. I fervently hope that he has recovered enough to pray for all of us and Christ's Church.

Instead of being priests, physicians of the soul, they exploited this man for the sake of sexual jollies. I get mad when I think of their misfeasance and malfeasance of our brother's spiritual welfare, all those who followed him into the snake pit at St. Anthony's Shrine and priests and parishes who operate like them.

St. Anthony's Shrine is still operating the sham church.

St. Anthony's served a generation of Irish immigrants. I have always felt like a possession of ours was stormed and overcome by a coup of pagans who are perverting and wreckovating It and there isn't a prelate holding power in possession of the backbone necessary to take it back from them. Every time I go in there, I feel sick.

Our Church leaders are very busy of course. There is lots of work to do, dismantling seminaries and monastaries operated by faithful priests, nuns and parishes filled with Catholics who are attracted to Church teaching and the Sacred Liturgy of the Latin Rite.

With limited time and resources at the Holy See, making choices between managing priests pushing porn and sex or priests pushing the sacred moments of mystical prayer and intimacy in the Latin Rite - the latter is much of a scandal to every administrative body within the Church from local superiors to the Chair of Peter.

I digress.

In another fine example of how spiritually dangerous priests are capitalizing on Pope Francis' little problem with his pie hole, they are blessing their spiritual misfeasance and malfeasance with chotchkies inferring our beloved Pope doesn't want us making judgments on right and wrong ways to use the gift of human sexuality.

I wish they would get out of our shrine. Go crazy somewhere else. We are all full up here.

Our friend and colleague CJ Doyle at the Catholic Action League has issued the following Action Alert:

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts today criticized Boston's Saint Anthony's Shrine---administered by Franciscan Friars, members of the same religious family as the city's Capuchin archbishop, Sean O'Malley---for their decision to host an information booth at this year's homosexual "Pride Festival" on June 14th. The festival will be held in Boston City Hall Plaza, where the city's annual "Pride Parade" ends.

The Grand Marshals of the 2014 parade will be the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a transvestite group whose members costume themselves as Catholic nuns. The SPI have a long history of mocking the Catholic Faith, producing obscene parodies of Catholic worship, exploiting Catholic imagery, and profaning Catholic symbols and sacramentals, such as the crucifix.

Their sacrileges include the "Hunky Jesus" contest and the "Condom Savior Mass," where contraceptives are distributed in place of Holy Communion. In 1987, they conducted a burlesque "exorcism" of Pope, now Saint John Paul II.

Although staffed by a religious order, rather than diocesan priests, Saint Anthony's is a Catholic church inside the Archdiocese of Boston, which operates with the permission of the archbishop. Accordingly, the League is also calling upon Catholics to contact Cardinal O'Malley and urge him to put a halt to this outrage.

The Catholic Action League is calling Saint Anthony's participation in the Pride Festival "a scandalous betrayal of Catholic principles, compounded by a shocking indifference to the specifically anti-Catholic character of this year's event."

Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle made the following comment: "The message of the Boston Pride Parade and its subsequent festival is one of radical rejection of Catholic morality, exacerbated, in this case, by overt contempt for the Catholic religion. It is accompanied by lewd behavior, immodest dress, displays of exhibitionism, and men marching in leather masks, dog collars and chains, the apparel of sadomasochism."

"Whatever rationalizations are offered, any sane person would reasonably conclude that the presence of the Shrine sends a signal of support and approval to a celebration of homosexuality. No one in secular society should be expected to take seriously Catholic teaching on marriage, on chastity outside of marriage, or on the need for modesty and purity in speech, dress, or behavior when one of Boston's best known Catholic institutions takes part in something as course, vulgar, and indecent as a homosexual pride festival."

"Finally, it is also uncharitable to the souls who may be lost, because the friars, instead of calling for their conversion, are affirming them in their sins. It is grievously deplorable."

Concerned Catholics contacting the Archdiocese were immediately directed to 'a comments line'.

Chancery employees call it the "talk to the refrigerator" campaign.

Boston Catholics who are a little more sophisticated in how to circumvent talking to the refrigerator, received a response such as the one below:

Dear _______,

St. Anthony Shrine, although within the Archdiocese of Boston, is a parish of the Franciscan Order and so I encourage you to contact them directly with your questions and concerns. The Archdiocese has no knowledge of the intent of this initiative and is not associated with it . Thank you for your correspondence.
Very Rev. Kevin M. Sepe

They are mystified as to what it is all about and it has nothing to do with them.

Fr. Sepe is actually a good egg. He took a position at the Chancery though and I am beginning to wonder if the carbon monoxide coming from Fr. Hehir's office is starting to affect his judgment.

Seriously...Do you think they know how the power of an Archbishop works or do you think they think we are as dumb as we look?

Never mind, I don't want to know.

Please keep our SSA brothers and sisters in your prayers this weekend. They have about as much of a chance at being catechized and pastored to salvation as the turkeys at Bonjis hoping for a long and happy life on the week before Thanksgiving.

If you have any extra prayers to spay, please also pray for those who are being forced to watch it happen.

Cardinal Dolan Retaliates -Wherein That Jolly Old Francis Show Turns into Godzilla in Gotham City

I'm sure you've all read by now that Cardinal Dolan is shuttering a parish that serves the Latin Rite community in New York.

Earlier this week, the pastor at Holy Innocents publicly shared the observation of a not-so-insignificant number of Catholics. Creative Minority Report has the story and reports that Fr. Wylie has had his faculties removed by Cardinal Dolan.

You can operate our lady of the mattress and pimp your parishioners to each other and the jolly old Francis show will sit in the Sanctuary and clap. But you can't speak the truth about the passive-aggressive interference and obstruction of worship in the Latin Rite community or you'll have your faculties taken away.

Priests can commit spiritual homicides for decades and the Jolly Old Francis show will cheer you on but if you dare to express criticism of their larceny of the salvation of souls the dear Cardinal will take your ability to say the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass away from you.

Criticism of the counterfeit church they have erected is not tolerated.

Nor is the Catechism and the Deposit of Faith or faithfulness to it.

Other than the Holy Father's scrutiny and oversight and preaching about money, the overwhelming majority of his proclamations on the teachings of the Church and those who are faithful to it has been undermining and ridiculing it.

I have my popcorn and 3D glasses all lined up for the synod in October. I have given up any hope that we will hear a teaching of the Church from Pope Francis until then that doesn't have to do with the distribution and oversight of money. We may not hear it throughout his entire papacy. In the meantime, the destruction of catechesis and the tools of salvation is happening all around us on every level.

We have been given our mandate: Do not take notice of it. Don't report it or publish it. Don't take pictures of it. Don't opine on how it is affecting the understanding and actions of everyone around you or the ability to teach the faith.

If you don't follow the mandate of the counterfeit church, you will be subject to the revenge executed by Mother Angelica and Pope Francis' crackerjack theologians.

Have you read this story by Steve Jalsevec?

I read it early this morning and I just can't get over it.

The venom our friends at Lifesite experienced from the Mother Angelica/Jolly Old Francis show is something else:

Here are just a few samples of what was what posted on the Facebook pages of various well-known and prolific Catholic writers:

“Two sentences that make me turn on my bullshit detector: ones that start, ‘Guess what Pope Francis just did?’ and ones that start, ‘According to LifeSiteNews . . . ‘”
“lying assholes who attack the Church”
“lazy, biased, and stupid reporting”
“no respect for LSN as a whole”
“an organization with a bad reputation”
“no news sense and no conscience”
hang your “head in shame for attempting to bring division in the Church through inaccurate and dishonest reporting”
“anti-Catholic bias”
“They have a distorted view of reality, and no conscience when it comes to reporting lies in order to advance the agenda.”
“sleazier than the National Enquirer”
“They don't actually do any reporting. They rewrite a lot of other people's reporting without checking facts or giving attribution.”
“The narcissism and pride is epic.

Keeping in mind that Lifesite is an apostolate faithful to Christ's Church that has been serving us for years, the undertow of this papacy seems to be in full swing for faithful Catholics -inside of our own homes, our parishes, our classrooms and apostolates.

Let's have the decency to be honest. Lifesite took the bullets for the irresponsible and thoughtless actions of the Pope, which naturally resulted in...criticism.

In looking at Cardinal Dolan's actions (and the Cardinal's and Bishops like him) I keep asking myself a few questions:

What is it about apostate priests that make bishops want to protect and promote them?

What is it about faithful ones that makes bishops want to penalize and silence them?

Each time they promote an apostate priest or punish and persecute a faithful one, they clarify who and what they are and the conclusions reached are not very edifying.

The Catholic thugs circle the wagons of those who see a wrong and have the desire to right it is another disturbing facet of the dysfunction.

I had to laugh at one comment in CMR's comments section:

What exactly does one hope to accomplish by writing to Card. Dolan?

Writing to the fox in the henhouse tells him you see what he is doing and it will sit in his conscience like a burning ember.

Pray for Fr. Wylie and those scandalized by the Catholic mafia.

The insanity is something else.

Nobody said it was going to be fun and the enemies within always hurt the most. We've just got to keep on going. The whole lot of us.

I recently adopted the habit of a friend who, whenever his life gets insufferable says "It doesn't get any better than this." LOL

I know just the cure. The Sacraments of Christ's Church. The Blood of Christ.

Can't get enough!

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God!

-Pope Francis.

It turns out Irish Catholic Nuns did not throw 800 children into a septic tank

The story is falling apart.

I knew there was something hokey about the story.

Even if you could believe an entire group of nuns dedicated to helping children were abusive, the body is a temple for an immortal soul. No way they would dump bodies into a septic tank. The body needs to be buried. Even the most disordered Catholics wouldn't dare to disrespect the dead by throwing the victims of their mass murder into a septic tank.

Our friend Pauli has some astute observations about Rod Dreher's rabid coverage of a hoax.

I keep refreshing my browser for an apology which surely is forthcoming?

Pick a Religion and Run with the Ball.

I have been thinking about the latest headscratcher - we pray to our God, you pray to yours, six of one, halfdozen of the other, all the same.

One must ask oneself, where's he going with this one?

Last week, our beloved Pope Francis repeatedly told muslim audiences that people have the freedom to choose religion one judges to be true.

This upset a lot of people, but I actually think his motive was to tell the muslims to stop killing the Christians. Chistians have a right to their religion and so on.

“May no one abuse the name of God through violence!” Pope Francis told the Muslim religious leaders.

We are not obligated to spring everyone from their delusions under every circumstance.

Time and place, circumstances and substance of soul are/have to be taken into account.

Christ went into the temple on many occasions to convert the uncatechized and village idiots but he did not attempt to convert Pilate or Herod and he definitely excluded excluded the entire race of Gentiles, saying, do not give what is holy to the dogs.

Christ did make exceptions to his exclusion but He always, in each exception, drew a public expression of belief in Christ as the living God before He responded to their request for healing or freedom from demons or vice.

Drawing a public expression that Jesus is Lord is an important gesture, then and now.

While I totally get his request to muslims to stop killing Christians, opening Catholic holy ground to a prayer that blasphemes "Jesus is Lord" is the antithesis of our Feast of Pentecost.

I'm going to break my own cardinal rule and link to this post on patheos, as it gives a whole new meaning to 'standing on my head'.

Fr. Longenecker said:

My post asking whether Muslims and Catholics worship the same God was probably the most mis-understood post I have ever written. I’ve had a good number of comments from people who understood and appreciated it, and a good number of comments from people who did not seem to understand what I was saying at all.

What I said: Christians and Muslims worship the same God because there is only one God. However, the Islamic understanding of the one God is defective.

He then goes on to attempt to explain what he didn't say as he perceived there was a big misunderstanding with his post.

Oh...I think people understood exactly what was said brother. And, what wasn't said.

You said there is a schmogasboard of religions that in reality are all worshiping the Truine God.

According to that logic, the Father sent His Only Son to be executed so that we may draw from His Blood through the Sacraments and be saved for absolutely nothing as everyone worshiping in every religion is worshiping God.

And as far as the index of things Fr. Longenecker says he didnt say, what we all learn with this papacy is, what you don't say is as important as what you do.

Our Pope is making a lot of folks stand on their heads to defend the indefensible.

A word to the wise: the air is thin down there.

Michigan Requires Parents to Surrender Minors to Private Conversations so State Nurses Can Sexually Demoralize

Catholic parents will have to be very proactive in preparing their children ahead of the sexual demoralization sessions.

If your child is mature enough to process, get ahead of it by telling your children that one of the most important sign of a dangerous person/pervert - be it a doctor, a nurse, a teacher, a community leader, a relative - is an adult who tries to solicit conversations or talk to them about sex - that is only the role of a mother, father.

I hate to say it, but at this period in history, it would be wise to prepare your children a few years before the age of 12 with Theology of the Body. Here is a decent resource to purchase ahead of time, read and teach.

Don't let them get ahead of you or your effectiveness will be greatly diminished.

You don't say...

Archbishop Gaenswein makes an observation...

Here's a thought:

Might someone wish to suggest it might be time to start thinking things through?

The Archdiocese of Boston is Gone to the Dogs

It is absolutely astounding how many nations are in ruin.

When I read the section Pewsitter has today on Britain, I thought to myself, it is completely buggered. The British government has informed Catholic doctors to get out of the country. England has passed a law which legal experts are advising could and they expect will be used to imprison Catholic parents who teach Church teaching.

Let us face it: This didn't happen to Christ's people in the UK without the assistance of Catholic clergy and lay people.

We are guilty.

I remember waking up twenty years ago to the nightmare in our own country. I was away from the Church for a while, upset with It's teachings on contraception, and when I finally woke up out of my diabolical disorientation and walked into my local parish, I did not recognize what I saw. I went to the neighboring parish and then the neighboring parish after that. A year or two and forty miles of parishes later, I still did not recognize it.

A group of lay Catholics were assembling around that time to try to figure out what to do about the mess. We infiltrated meetings, parishes, collected info, sent it up the chain of command, manifesto after manifesto. Naively, we thought we'd get help from somewhere but after acknowledging the mess is what it is and a little bit of help here and there we were told, sometimes with big grins, it is hand-to-hand combat and they would be praying for us.

We went on a rollercoaster of feelings about the handoffs. While we felt abandoned and frustrated, they saw a warrior. They were beaming. Like it was a glorious task and we better get moving on it.

Sometimes we still get on the rollercoaster!

We eventually pulled it together and decided to expose the nonsense, parish-by-parish, on the internet. It was (and still is) extremely effective.

Sometimes I wonder if that is what we should just get back to - infiltrating and exposing parish-by-parish. (More on this later, but I was recently told that Cardinal O'Malley has appointed one of the worst apostate priests in the history of the Archdiocese of Boston, Fr. Ron Coyne, to a head a collaborative. Oddly, this priest is among a rather large group of apostate priests whom Cardinal O'Malley is gaga over, promotes and protects. We need to do something or we will lose another generation to it. )

I have recounted this story before, so I ask forgiveness of long-time readers, but we have many new among us over the last few years and with recent developments, it bears repeating.

When we started out on the internet, we began to hear from thousands of Catholics who told us stories about their school and parish. Email, phone, regular mail, UPS, Express mail, face-to-face meetings - the piles of papers detailing spiritual abuse were overwhelming.

I would come home to packages on my front steps, in my driveway, mailbox, back porch. If my children beat me home from school, they would gather up the packages and put them in my office or on the kitchen table.

You couldn't help but to fall on your knees and cry for Catholics who lost love ones to some dissenting priest or teacher gone mad and the trail of arrogant patronizing letters that told them nobody really gives a flying fig. As the people became more persistent in seeking help, the more abusive the lay people, priests, Chancery employees became.

Those gathered here at TTC are well versed in the routine.

A number of orthodox priests advised and counseled a group of Catholics who were running around the Archdiocese of Boston trying to plug up the holes on the Titanic (under the radar of course). We tried to keep up with the avalanche at first.

I remember one day, one of them saying, with all sincerity, "We can't keep up with it, it's gone to the dogs".

He dropped out of the battle, so did several others. But a group of us got stronger and we pulled the rug out from underneath the whole shebang. Until Cardinal O'Malley brought in Fr. Bryan Hehir and he dismantled two hundred years of building the Roman Catholic Church in Boston. Cardinal O'Malley gave him his power, surrounded him with a wall of protection and he leveled nearly everything.

They have made much progress in the Chancery and in our schools, but they do not have our parishes back yet though they are starting back up on that level under the reign of Pope Francis. Interesting he is now in the public square using Pope Francis' name for his insidious agenda, giving an 'outline' of what's going to go down under Pope Francis.

I saw the little weasel at the services at St. Paul's responding to the Black Mass.

He sat a few rows behind me acting like he had nothing to do with the destruction of souls setting up their worship of satan across the street at Harvard University and he was there to lend us all a helping hand.

I had to restrain myself from calling him on his duplicity and pinning his accountability between his eyes. I decided against it. We've spent years pointing it out to him, his superiors all the way to the Chair of Peter. He has his own shelf in the library of manifestos of apostates in St. Peter's Square. I don't owe him anything and I have gone overboard doing my duty to Christ. I will have no regrets with that one on my day of reckoning. He is anathema and I am not wasting another breath telling him and his superiors what they already know.

My point is here, if this mother and the small group of Catholics who somehow managed to escape the dissident priests were overwhelmed by the paper trails, you can imagine how the Popes feel.

It's time for us to make a big mess - as Pope Francis called it. LOL.

Padre Pio, patron protector of pedophiles and other nonsense...

Patheos appears to have huddled and come up with their talking points and the fix is in. Deacon Kandra is weary of the 'fighting' that happens when Catholics report priests who rape body, mind and souls of Catholics.

Deacon Kandra went so far as to say Catholics who report priests who rape body, mind and soul are devils.

Yeah. You read that right.

It isn't the priests who rob and rape that are the devils, said Padre Pio, it's the people reporting them to authorities.

Padre Pio, defender of pedophile priests, enemy of victims.

I wonder if we'll see that at Mother Angelica's place to defend the indefensible?

That would be a good episode of The World Over.

Maybe the Pope should hand out that quote to victims when he meets with them?

I guess they've abandoned the old chestnut of having Mark Shea issue insincere apologies.

Every time I think this could not possibly get any more ridiculous, it does.

You know what a world full of Catholics is weary about?

Catholics who protect abusive, vulgar conduct by pretending the voices of the victims reporting it to seek intervention from their superiors are participating in a petty personality squabble which needs to be silenced.

The problem that protected pedophiles is manifesting itself on Patheos and EWTN.

If you don't have the fortitude or capability to distinguish abusive conduct from the voices of victims, it is time to stop blogging. Adieu. Adios. Good day to you.

The cult of protecting abusers needs to be stopped.

I read the communications of Elizabeth Scalia to Steve. The arrogance, pride and insensitivity to a fellow Catholic who had a terrible experience with cult behavior of Carholics in Regnum Christi was beneath contempt.

I did however agree with her accurate diagnosis of her condition:

"I. Am. Sick."

Amen. And the contagion is all over blogosphere.

Obama's Latest Fatwa upon America Backfires

Obama's illegal release of five top terrorists and his Rose Garden ceremony praising allah with the treasonous wretch and defector is starting to get really ugly.

Reports are coming in that Bergdahl defected from the army to help the taliban make better weapons of mass destruction. Six to eight honorable soldiers lost their lives looking for him.

There are also reports that Bergdahl renounced his US citizenship.

Obama's Rose Garden honor of the soldier who committed treason sung the praises of the god of the murderers of Christians, allah.

Bergdahl's father tweeted a message saying he was working on freeing all of the taliban from Gitmo and evoked a curse and a threat upon our soldiers and country. He later deleted the tweet.

The big stink in the public square has caused the US Army to announce they will investigate and pursue desertion charges.

God only knows how much this president is doing behind the scenes to arrange, support and supply he enemies of America and Christianity. I think we are seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Consecrate Them in the... Poverty.

I came across this story about Pope Francis being 'furious' over Cardinal Bertone's plans to retire in a four-story penthouse and truth be told, I became "furious" myself.

Picture this: You are parents of a child who is sexually attracted to same sex. For years, you explain the teachings of the Church as they pertain to that attraction and the only course for living with it: celibacy and the Sacraments of Christ's Church.

Along comes a prelate who contradicts Church teaching and works to persuade your child to tell him his sexual temptations are a gift from God and he or she should act on those temptations.

This disordered priest causes your child to believe you have been lying to him, you hate him, the Catholic Church hates him. He begins to resent and fight with you and resent the teachings of the Church. His relationship with you is deeply wounded but he grows closer to the disordered prelate who holds a homosexual match dating club in the basement of his parish where the group encourages and supports sexual activity. He meets another man and falls in love. The priest is overjoyed and counsels them to get married, adopt children. The priest 'blesses' your son's marriage in a ceremony that simulates the Sacraments. He dies in that state several months or years later, or continues to live in a way that obstructs him from his salvation.

You spend years asking his bishop to reign him in. You send hundreds of communications to the bishop, nuncio, Holy See - all of which are responded to with platitudes or go unanswered.

Nobody gives a flying fig about you, your child and the hundreds of thousands like him, all the way to the top. It goes on like this for decades.

When a new Pope gets elected, you hear him implying he's here to change the 2000 years of Popes before him whose focus on doctrine and rules was small-minded and Catholics do not need to make judgments on right and wrong actions when faced with temptation. You hear him infer that faithful Catholics are self-absorbed promethean neopelagians and little monsters.

Your son calls you to hold the Pope's words up as further conviction you don't know real Church teaching and you are a bigot or hateful person.

One day, you open the National Catholic Reporter and see the Pope kissing the hands of the priest who led your son into the abyss and concelebrating Mass with him. You open the National Catholic Register to read Mother Angelica's journalist telling readers her bullshit detector went off when she read about how upset you were by it.

Then today you read the Pope, who rides around in a popemobile costing one-half million dollars, is finally 'furious'. He is furious about a priest whom he believes is not doing what he thinks should be done with... his money.

The Pope is concerned about what priests are doing with money, what you and I are doing with money, what governments are doing with money.

I don't know about you, but if I never hear this Pope talking about money again it will be too soon.

With Pope Francis, you can spend decades engaging in the destruction of souls, robbing thousands of salvation and he will roll out the red carpet and kiss your hand and call the journalists to take pictures of it so his act can be published in newspapers --- but you better not do something he doesn't like with money or he will get furious!

I had to discipline myself not to let my... (and I hate to use the word)...disgust get traction.

It's hard not to think about the damage and hurt being done to so many Catholics who have lost their children, people they love to the disordered prelates whose apostolates are advancing with the Pope's actions, statements and complete silence on Church teaching.

I am astounded by Catholics who see it all happening and believe pretending we don't will help those scandalized by it.

That is conjecture that just isn't gelling, especially given the catastrophic damage it did during the pedophile shuffles.

Acknowledging what we all see and know is damaging and hurtful and reminding them how to hold onto Christ's Church and Sacraments through the storm makes much more sense to me.

I thought I could find some wisdom and peace in Scripture and so I looked up Wednesday's reading as I am scheduled to lector.

Absolutely gorgeous reading from St. Paul. But I did not find solace and peace in them. In fact, it was just the opposite.

I read the Gospel for the day and thought about the dichotomy between it and the perception Pope Francis is fostering in the world. Intentional or unintentional - it doesn't matter - because it goes on like the energizer bunny. It keeps on going and going.

Here's the Gospel for Wednesday:

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed, saying:
“Holy Father, keep them in your name
that you have given me,
so that they may be one just as we are one.
When I was with them I protected them in your name that you gave me,
and I guarded them, and none of them was lost
except the son of destruction,
in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
But now I am coming to you.
I speak this in the world
so that they may share my joy completely.
I gave them your word, and the world hated them,
because they do not belong to the world
any more than I belong to the world.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world
but that you keep them from the Evil One.
They do not belong to the world
any more than I belong to the world.
Consecrate them in the truth.
Your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world,
so I sent them into the world.
And I consecrate myself for them,
so that they also may be consecrated in truth.”

What is it, exactly, we are being consecrated in?

We don't recognize it because we've been on the edge of our seat waiting for the truth and we have yet to hear it.

A lot of kisses and a lot of talk about..and furor over the...money.

I really hope he can put his big boy pants on.

I hope he has big boy pants.

This week is a rocking week in our Church. I hope you are all praying the powerful Novena, going to daily Mass when you can.

Let it rain.
Let it rain.
Open the floodgates of Heaven.
