I'm sure they would be appalled at the suggestion because they take the Sacrament too seriously.
To tell you the truth, I thought the news on annulments was going to be much worse. Ed Peters has some balanced commentary.
Don't worry folks, somebody is going to write up a readers digest version and the Bishop himself will adjudicate.
Bishops will finally have something to do besides once a year Confirmation!
I wonder if they will set up offices at the airports?
I find it very interesting that when the new Romans thought about the problems with marriage - their energy, treasure, time and talents wasn't better Catechesis and marriage prep, it was cutting through the red tape of Catholic divorce.
The Holy Father has won the admiration of Hillary Clinton.
"I am not a Catholic, but I am a great admirer of the pope," Clinton, who is a Methodist, said. "I think that what he's trying to do is take this venerable institution, the Roman Catholic Church, and really, once again, place it on a firm foundation of scriptures of Christ's words."
The Roman Catholic Church has been displaced from Christ words but Pope Francis has arrived to put it back on the foundation of Scripture.
Aren't we lucky?

all I can think of is the boom that the Vegas diocese will experience.

Honey, don't be an idiot. It's a bore.
When the Pope contradicts the Magisterium, Magisterial fidelity is when the people remain faithful to the Magisterium.
Pope Benedict “One must shun pseudo-pastoral claims” that look only at the desire of divorced Catholics to return to the sacraments, the pope said Jan. 29 in his annual speech to officials of the Roman Rota, a tribunal that mainly deals with appeals filed in marriage annulment cases.
Wonder why he's not in charge anymore?

When you see this type of headline: "HILLARY CLINTON A 'GREAT ADMIRER'
OF POPE FRANCIS," it is time to remember WARREN ZEVON's song
"Lawyers, Guns And Money," where he states:
"Send lawyers, guns and money, The SH_T has hit the fan"
The basic problem is not the annulment process or the ease of obtaining an annulment. The basic problem is that nearly everyone who wants an annulment gets one as nearly any reason for obtaining one qualifies. In Detroit a canon lawyer or facilitator is assigned to help you make it all happen. The system is based on false mercy, lying and hypocrisy . I think one can make the argument that since nearly all annulments are granted all marriages are flawed and could be annulled. The whole thing has become a devilish joke.
.
To get an annulment at the present time takes about 6 months to do all the paper work, jump through the hoops, and, in some cases, pay a fee. Pope Francis has simplified the process so getting through this fraudulent procedure is more efficient. I guess he would call that mercy. In actual fact he is making it easier for people to sin and think they are getting away with it. I am afraid they are in for some unpleasant surprises at the pearly gates.
Hillary Clinton the theologian. It is to laugh. Everyone had it wrong for 2000 years until Jorge Bergoglio came along. Hilarious.
A gloss is an addition to a Bible verse such as the "Protestant ending" to the Lord's Prayer ("For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory").
His Holiness has glossed [with the words in brackets] Matthew 19:6 and Mark 10:9 to read “What therefore God has joined together, let no man [but a one-judge marriage tribunal or the local bishop] put asunder [and asap if the reason is self-evident].”
Hey - when you've met some other floozy, the year of mercy will help men to abandon the first wife and children as quickly as possible so you can shack up with the new woman and still receive Communion.
Pope Francis and Hillary have much in common: similar moral standards; operate in secret; are both politicians; have many helpers of questionable character; are basically incompetent; seek to destroy the institution they represent.
Maybe they can text Confession and tweet Holy Communion to move things a bit faster...
My seventh grade Dominican Sister was old. She had a lot of quaint sayings and phrases she would use when scolding us. One of her favorites was: Tell me who your friends are, and I will know what you are.
I couldn't help but think of this when I read of Mrs. Clinton's admiration for our pope.

The Protestants may use that ending to the Our Father, but it's not a "Protestant ending." It's a Catholic and Orthodox doxology that comes down to us from the very earliest ages of the Church. It is found in the Didache.
We say it every Sunday at the end of the Our Father in the Byzantine Rite, and have done so for centuries. The Orthodox use it also.
Priest: For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever and to the ages of ages.
Do you know the punishment for bigamy? Two mothers-in-law.
