Abortion Apostle Doug Kmiec

Courtesy of Jay Anderson, the latest skinny on Doug Kmiec's stumping for abortion, is, as expected, narcissistic.

He wants to be the Ambassador to the Vatican.

Ramesh reports on more of Kmiec's dishonesty:

Kmiec's latest approach is to deny that the Freedom of Choice Act, which Obama supports, means what its words indicate, what its legislative sponsors say it means, and what pro-abortion lobbying groups say it means. Contrary to Kmiec's assertions, it would sweep away existing state regulations of the abortion right and require that all levels of government fund abortion. Kmiec also claims, falsely, that Obama wants to tighten the "health exception" so that late-term abortions could effectively be regulated. He has never expressed the slightest interest in narrowing the scope of the abortion right protected by the Supreme Court's jurisprudence.I feel that I have already paid too much attention this year to this silly and confused man,
Emphasis mine.

Kmiec has contorted his mind to the point where he is actually selling late term abortions for Obama.

As Ed Whelan at NRO points out, Kmiec is padding his resume:

The Obama campaign routinely identifies Kmiec as “[f]ormer Reagan legal counsel” and “head of the Office of Legal Counsel for Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush”. Those descriptions are accurate but, insofar as they are meant to suggest that Kmiec was a close adviser to Reagan and Bush, misleading. Kmiec headed DOJ’s Office of Legal Counsel for a grand total of a few months at the end of the Reagan administration (after Chuck Cooper and most of his deputies had left the office) and the beginning of the Bush 41 administration (before President Bush was able to replace him). Someone familiar with OLC at the time tells me that it’s unlikely that Kmiec ever met personally with Reagan to provide him legal advice (and that if any such meetings did occur, they would have been very few).

and later points out: I was overly charitable in my post earlier today about Doug Kmiec. It’s not just the Obama campaign that falsely suggests that Kmiec was a close adviser to Ronald Reagan. In his latest pandering for Obama, Kmiec describes himself as “Ronald Reagan’s legal counsel”.
Next, he'll be Ronald Reagan's vice president.

Sheesh.
