Hillary Meets Our Lady of Guadalupe

Hillary made an unexpected stop to Our Lady of Guadalupe to leave flowers "on behalf of the American people".

Mrs. Clinton was received on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. by the rector of the Basilica, Msgr. Diego Monroy.

Msgr. Monroy took Mrs. Clinton to the famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which had been previously lowered from its usual altar for the occasion.

After observing it for a while, Mrs. Clinton asked “who painted it?” to which Msgr. Monroy responded “God!”

Clinton then told Msgr. Monroy that she had previously visited the old Basilica in 1979, when the new one was still under construction.

After placing a bouquet of white flowers by the image, Mrs. Clinton went to the quemador –the open air area at the Basilica where the faithful light candles- and lit a green candle.

Leaving the basilica half an hour later, Mrs. Clinton told some of the Mexicans gathered outside to greet her, “you have a marvelous virgin!”

Look out Lady! She's watching you!!

Feel anything like a foot on your head?

One of the strongest anti abortion groups in the Catholic Church introduced Quadeloupe to JP2 They were led at that time by Fr Walter Weinrich a retired Maryknoll missionary who spent his entire priesthood living in the jungles and caves with his flocks.seems appropriate to me that the Patron of this group is introduced herself to Madame Clinton. Guess we all start praying the relationship continues. No matter what politicl reason Clinton had I guess mary will trump it.

For anyone interested, the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be at St. Bridget Parish in Maynard, MA on April 16. A whole evening service dedicated to Our Lady, starting with Rosary at 6:30, then Mass and a talk by a Guadalupe expert.

Cheers.
