If Socialism must begin somewhere, let it begin at the Boston Globe

Details on "concessions"

The New York Times Co., which has threatened to shutter The Boston Globe, is seeking deep concessions from the Globe's largest union that could include pay cuts of up to 20 percent, the elimination of seniority rules and lifetime job guarantees, and millions of dollars in cuts in company contributions to retirement and healthcare plans.

Welcome to socialism. It isn't about the people after all. It's a tyranny and guess who gets screwed.

Enjoy!

Actually, you are speaking of Capitalism, in which private investors, through public ownership of private corporations (in our most prominent brand of capitalism), own companies and make decisions based on what's best for the companies' respective bottom lines.

Socialism is a system where the workers own the means of production. Clearly that is not the case at either the N.Y. Times or the B. Globe.

Anon,

Are you from Boston?

Perhaps I wasn't clear in the context - but I was relying upon the knowledge of the last ten years of stories and propaganda of the Boston Globe.

I was speaking about socialism - as in their aspirations and drooling over Obama. Their reign of terror wanting to redistribute the wealth. They wanted it. Let the redistribution begin right on Morrissey Boulevard!

;)
