The Braintree Plaza...

I usually do my clothes shopping at TJ Max, Marshalls, Kohl's and Filene's Basement.

Both of my teenager's birthdays are coming up this week and so I headed down to the South Shore Plaza today to the local Filene's Basement. The merchandise is thinning out. Sadly, I think they're preparing for you know what.

Anyway, that's not the focus of this screed.

I typically enjoy shopping the Plaza. I don't go often but when I've ventured there in the past, it's been on a Friday night. It's a lot of professionals, well-dressed, gracious, people of all colors and sizes.

But...what in Sam Hill is going on there? It was all Animal House today.

The clientele looked like they just got out of prison.

I walked into the dressing room at Filene's Basement to try something on and about two minutes later, the body odor was so bad I could hardly breathe.

I went up the elevator and bumped into a couple of hoodlums standing around a booth who were smoking a cigarette. "What the hell is this?", I thought to myself. I put on my glasses and walked closer. "Electronic cigarettes" "Get the nicotine rush and get around the indoor ban"

I walked into the ladies room on the second floor, opened the door of three stalls and every one of them looked like a circus of filthy pigs had been there all day.

My family immigrated from Ireland and settled in Roxbury. They lived there through the Depression. Their clothes were starched, ironed. Their homes were spotless. I was born in Roxbury. We moved to Dorchester with many other Irish Catholics. I never once saw this behavior, even in the most dire of circumstances.

God help us.

It's as if we are seeing the fall of Western Civilization before our eyes, we descend into barbarism. I'm starting to see a marked increase of this behavior in West Roxbury in the last 18 months.

I hope this country is not trying to emulate some third world hell hole. What I find is the tacit acceptance of "Hip Hop" culture among much of the middle class youth.

Apparently, the "Bad Boy, Gangbanger" mentality is not enough, our neighborhood has to endure the throb of deafening "Mutha F---er" rap crap eminating from low rider cars with blacked out windows driven by intoxicated hooded punks. Out of everyone of these vehicles is an endless string of obscenities. So much for peace in our neighborhood this Summer.

Perhaps I should be grateful I'm not hearing gun shots...yet.

Just think the moonbats in places like Wellesley and Newton continue to value educators who have made a careers savaging the "imperial Chauvinism" of Western culture. We are seeing the fruit of their tolerant labor all around us.
