Talking about Touching in Iowa

Cardinal O'Malley's children's protection program has shown up in Iowa.

Instead of taking an inventory of the active sex lives of the whackadoos the Church ordained, kindergartners in Ireland will be violently exposed to this kind of trash. I still have the teacher's manual for the first grade that literally instructs the teacher after a sex lesson to tell the first graders not to do these things in school but go home and do them.

Meanwhile, a few of of Macial's many children are alleging he sexually abused his own children.

Sadly, "the purification" inside of the Legion is excising a tumor of the metastatic cancer the Vatican continues to ignore to this day.

Pope Benedict is dealing with the Legion. Here is a recent quote from the Vatican on the matter
"The serious and objectively immoral behaviour of Fr. Maciel, supported by incontrovertible evidence, at times constitutes real crimes, and manifests a life devoid of scruples and of genuine religious feeling. The large majority of Legionaries were unaware of that life, particularly because of the system of relations created by Fr. Maciel, who had skilfully managed to build up an alibi, to gain the trust, confidence and surrounding silence and strengthen his role as a charismatic founder.
Not infrequently the lamentable disgracing and expulsion of those who doubted his upright conduct, and the misconception of not wanting to harm the good that the Legion was doing, had created around him a defence mechanism which made him untouchable for a long time , thus rendering knowledge of his real life difficult."
Love them or hate them, the Legion has a significant Catholic presence in 22 countries that includes 2000+ seminarians, several universities and a recognized movement with ecclesial approval of the 70,000 people of RC (Regnum Christi) There clearly was a significant 'cult of the personality' issue with Marciel and the massive amounts of money boggle the mind - well into the billions. As outlandish as it all seems, I believe it is a minor issue when compared to The American Bishops near complacency on Abortion, the virtual apostasy brought about by liturgical creativity and the still rampant homosexual priesthood in America.
Marciel was a charlatan for sure and those who fell under his spell can not be faulted for their obedience especially those who found genuine hope in The Legion and RC. In my experience with RC there was never a question of obedience to Rome, I wish I could say the same about the American Bishops.
