According to Catholic World News of March 10, 2010 (HTTP://www.catholicculture.org/news/headlines/index.cfm?storyid=5681), Archbishop Dolan is "reluctant to deny Communion to pro-abortion politicians":

Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York told an Albany television reporter on March 9 that he does not favor denying Holy Communion to Catholic politicians who support abortion and same-sex marriage.

“NEWS10's John McLoughlin asked Archbishop Dolan if he favored denying the Church's Sacraments to politicians, like Governor David Paterson, who are Roman Catholic but also pro-choice and pro-gay marriage,” WTEN-TV reported. “The prelate acknowledged that some of his fellow bishops might favor such a ban, but Dolan said he does not, preferring to follow the lead of Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI, who said it was better to try to persuade them than to impose sanctions.”

Jesus truly listens when we are persistent. Just like the man needing oil for baking from his neighbor, the more you hound Him, the sooner He will give in. I received an e-mail from the President of The Sycamore Group from Notre Dame and he said that the Obama affair at ND played a large role in this election. Keep up the good work Carol.

Carol: They were uncharacteristically quiet at America Mag. I think they were all at PJ O'Rourkes, getting drunk, giving wat to the sin of despair!

What a day.

What a sweet day.

Maria, Wow - I visited America. I'm sure Reese and the America crowd cannot believe what has just happened to them. A tsunami just hit them.

Anonymous - thanks for the link on the reluctance of Ab Dolan to enforce Canon 915 as he has been instructed. There is work to be done there but the Lord has just turned the ship.

Immoral sex drugs, boozing as ordination material and seminary activities has just derailed. Bernadin is finally dead and the impact of this is far reaching.

The VP elected is going to take the USCCB towards Rome.

I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now- found you through Matt Abbott's article about Sacred Heart in Kingston (I lived in Plymouth a couple of years- in Chicago now).

Praise God for what happened today! Keep up the good work Carol!
