You've got that right Kev!

What's so amazing about Cardinal Burke is that he is so meek and pastoral but man, does he pack a good theological punch right between the eyes when he needs to!

whatdo-ya-think down the line?...first American Pope? :)

It sure seems like he is being groomed for it. What a gift that would be...he is both pastoral and tough on doctrine, he has courage and agape. Just thinking about it makes me want to do a cartwheel!

There will be no American pope until America ceases to be a superpower. It just won't happen. The College of Cardinals jealously guards the perception of independence of Rome from the influence of major powers, and has ever since the Babylonian Captivity.

Well, at the rate Obama's going, that shouldn't be long indeed!

(word verify--"stomanic"...is that an obscure Irish Saint? :):):)

Carol,
Would it be appropriate or ordered to God to knee before a layman or woman and receive communion on the tongue?

...See it now?

LCIB, I have seen it all along. Where we disagree is that it does not invalidate or compromise the Mass for me and I am choosing to stay on the Isle of Crete to fight bigger battles.

For LCIB, I'm not sure I understand your point. I kneel everytime I receive Communion, no matter who the Church has deemed ok to give Christ to me, but I'm not kneeling to them; I'm kneeling before my Lord and Savior in their hands...be it Pope, bishop, priest, or EMHC, I kneel for my Lord in their hands. (and praise God, I haven't been told to stand up yet :)

Carol, Susan;
I'm still with Rome.
Fight on.
EMHC will eventually be a thing of the past, once we get beyond this
bump in the road they call Vatican two.

I'm going back under my rock

That is just the thing...Rome allows it, so even the people doing it are technically with Rome. They don't know any better. The Isle of Crete is not for everyone. Much good is done by exposing more egregious offenses and abuses and being a witness to what is happening to Christ and souls being spiritually abused. We have been able to stop a great deal of it over the course of the last ten years. I suspect Rome will reverse the madness at some point in the future. Until then, we say the serenity prayer and testify to what we can under thus rogue and coward of a Cardinal.
