Newt is the only candidate who can defeat that pay-grade-challenged moral nonentity Obama.

Santorum hasn't the experience. He appears callow though he is maturing. Romney the Mormon is no better than a Mohammedan, saying whatever he needs to in order to win. Mormons and Mohammedans are liars by virtue of their own theology, if theology can indeed be predicated of either sect. There is not a whit of difference between Holy Joe and Holy Moe. Money. Power. Sex. That is their religion. How many concubines has Romney? Have they renounced that? The polygamous stuff is merely in abeyance. They are all hypocrites.

I am suspicious of Gingrich, but I fear the headstrong Santorum and his willingness to commit our military to another feckless adventure in the Near East. Let Israel deal with Iran. They are doing it with American money in any event.

Gingrich / Santorum or vice-versa means two Catholics on the ticket and that will repulse the Evangelicals. Gingrich and somebody else. Mmm.

thank you Newt.

Did you see put out a press release that Mary Ann Glendon and 4 other ex-Vatican ambassadors endorse Romney?

While they were endorsing the Mormon proabort, Santorum headed off to Mass. I am not exaggerating.

I don't know. I think evangelicals have their back up against the wall. They are not going to support Romney. Maybe I shouldn't say that. The wealthy evangelicals will support the Mittens but values voters, which make up 3/4 of the GOP won't get on the Mittmobile. Paul is a whackadoo. What other choice do they have?

Newt was wonderful in the debate last night. For me, the problem with Newt is that he tends to self destruct everywhere else. I'd love to see him go the distance just to keep him debating and pointing out the reality of Obama's tenure - it is definitely his strength! Then maybe take second place on the ticket. I wish he could learn to get out of his own way, but Newt is Newt!

Local jackass Andy Hiller used his minute in the limelight at this morning's NBC debate to press the candidates on what special rights they would award to homosexuals. At the ABC debate last night a NH know nothing talking head asked a nearly identical question. Lame stream media obsession with promoting this fringe agenda. I was expecting the two Catholic candidates to be asked their views of Father John Unni and St. C's.

Cant stand Andy Hiller

Hi Jack:
Do you remember the name of that woman-from Sweden? --who sings, so beautifully, Ave Verum Corpus?

Jack O'Malley said...

Hi Maria,

Yes. Her name is Sissel Kyrkjebø (Sissel is short for Cecilia). She is actually Norwegian. Just type Sissel into youtube or google -- she has a website too. I have to check on amazon to see whether her cd's are available here.

Here's the youtube for Ave Verum.

My pleasure, Maria. She's great, isn't she? She evidently did a PBS special some years ago which I missed. I'm not much of a TV watcher. But I think she is extremely talented. I put her videos on as background music when I am working.

One I really like (there are several versions from different stages of her career) is Eg ser at du e trøtt (I see you are tired). There are translations on some of the youtube videos I think. It is a very poignant poem about about the descent from life into death. But it is at the same time uplifting. It depends on one's point of view. To me the significant verse is the last Men eg gjer død til liv, for deg (But I make death into life for you). The author is Björn Eidsvåg. Her whole repertoire is glorious.
