Cardinal Weurl and Fr. Guarnizo

Lord of the World seems to be the theme of the week.

This woman came into the sanctuary before Mass and maliciously blasphemed the teachings of the Church. Accordingly, the priest had no choice but to apply the Canons of the Catholic Church and follow the instructions of the Holy See.

The goats are being separated from the sheep and the episcopal wolves are being separated from the true shepherds.

You cannot serve two masters.

I am not basing my observation that Weurl is a wolf on one circumstance or even a dozen. But after a couple of dozen situations where the same theme emerges, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, talks like a duck and it quacks - its a duck.

I am also not making an observation about the state of his soul. I do not proclaim to know his accountability.

Maybe the man is a maroon or has some other kind of impediment or disability that releases him from accountability. Maybe he, like Peter, struggles with cowardice and will at some point in the future grow a spine, face Nero and be hanged upside down in the future. Prayers are in order.

But let us be clear.

When the lack of mental clarity is a consequence of unrepented sin and fruit of rebelling against Church teaching, the theology of the Catholic Church enlightens us that we are suffering from the illness and contamination of the mind because our soul is sick. A sick soul produces thoughts and behaviors that lead us to take actions that cause our own destruction.

Church teaching explains the theology with Judas' betrayal of Christ and rebellious reception of the Eucharist. Scripture duly notes that devil entered him. Drove him to his own madness and suicide.

This is not to say that everyone who commits suicide is therefore condemned or culpable. In the circumstances with Judas, he was the beneficiary of the Presence of Christ, the Divine Physician and there was no other physical or mental malady that caused him to destroy himself. It was pure, unadulterated sin. The devil entered his soul, took possession and drove him to suicide.

That's what Scripture says. His soul was sick and in that state he received the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ. The devil entered him. Why? Because the devil is after Christ. Since he is alienated from Christ he needs souls to receive Him and then works through human weakness and sin to accumulate souls. It's a contest.

When a physician of the soul denies a Sacrament, he is not only acting on Christ's behalf, he is acting on behalf of the soul. Diminishing the efficacy of the devil.

Who in hell would punish a priest for carrying out the instructions of the Holy See?

Oh...wait! Everyone in hell would.

What side is Cardinal Weurl on?

God does not come to collect departed souls mastered by the devil to take them to heaven. The devil collects his own.

Under these circumstances, when every single tool has been afforded us, when Christ has afforded us every opportunity to be enlightened about Church teaching, when He has sent His missionaries to provide us the opportunity to repent and drive out sin with the Sacrament of Confession, to possess our soul with His Presence, when we have been fortunate enough to be blessed and called and enlightened and guided - against our own will with the Sacrament of the Eucharist and we reject and rebel and sin, and as a result we are not in our right mind -- under these circumstances, according to the irrefutable teaching of Christ's Church on salvation, this kind of mental confusion is the first portion of of our sentence that is leading us to the destruction of our soul. If one continues on that path they will remain in that state after your death in perpetuity.

There is no redemption for soul that dies in this state, whether through natural death or self destruction.

The purpose of His Execution was to disclose His Intellect through the Catechism, which is and forever shall be a living doctrine. We are to accept the Deposit of His Intellect with the faith of a child, even when we don't understand it, like it or we have desires that contradict its precepts. He left us the safety net of the Sacraments to fortify us against temptation, absolve us from sin, drive out demons and infuse us with the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit.

God did not Incarnate and suffer His Own Execution to literally leave us His Intellect and Sacraments of His Church on earth so that we could reject it, rebel against it, tempt and seduce others with our vanities and desires and still be given an opportunity to enter Heaven.

There is no amount of feeding the poor that will pardon sins. Charity is not the conduit of salvation and cannot be used to leverage your sin. Charity does not absolve you of sin. The Sacrament of Confession is the only source of absolution. Our salvation solely and completely relies upon accepting the Deposit of God's Intellect in the Catechism of His Church, confessing and being absolved of our sins in the Sacrament of Confession and the promise to commitment to avoid the sin in the future.

There is one exception to this. There are certain circumstances that are known only to God when ordained man, be it a priest or a bishop will be held accountable.

Let's dissect it.

There may be a circumstance where a soul has had access to all of the gifts of Christ's Intellect and Sacraments but is not the sharpest tool in the shed or has had parents who struggled, etc. They are tempted by a peer early on in life. The priest in the local parish operates a clapping promiscuity center. The local bishop encourages, praises, supports and protects the clapping fornication center. He hires people who reject Church teaching themselves to teach the little children in all the schools in the archdiocese. Innocent children are indoctrinated into the clapping promiscuity under the Crucifix of Christ. The whole situation is exploited by the local press with a secular agenda and uncatechized adults get sucked into the vacuum.

Under these circumstances, the souls abandoned and abused by them for the purposes of animating their self-esteem and self-love may or may not be held accountable. The priest and bishop will be held accountable for the loss of souls. Alternately, Adam and Eve and Adam and Steve, the priest, the bishop - could all be toast.

In times like these in the history of the world, the bar gradually gets higher and higher. Stakes get higher. The devil takes advantage of weaknesses and flaws. There is a sifting.

This is what we can take to the bank:

"Therefore do not be afraid of them.

Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed,

nor secret that will not be known.

What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light;

what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.

And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul;

rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy

both soul and body in Gehenna.

Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin?

Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's knowledge.

Even all the hairs of your head are counted.

So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Everyone who acknowledges me before others

I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.

But whoever denies me before others,

I will deny before my heavenly Father."

The truth will set you free. But not before is pisses you off.
