What a day.
I just read yesterday that Pope Francis came in second in the election of Pope Benedict but it still caught me off-guard. I've been scrambling to do homework. What is out there is mostly good news - no doubt you have all read it by now. I'm waiting for Michael Voris' report as I also read concerns from our Latin Rite Catholics, but wanted to share my initial thoughts.
I confess - I panicked when I heard he was a Jesuit!
On doing initial diligence, he seems both faithful to the teachings of the Church and lover the poor. He comes across as loving, kind, humble. Marian. He is articulate, willing to hit below the belt in the public square when the politicians are pulling his flock into the sewer. The fire is going. Burning hot. I couldn't help but be attracted.
At the parish where I go to daily Mass, there is a statue of St. Anthony that takes my breath away. It's the traditional statue - in one arm he is holding the Christ Child and with the other, he is blessing. But the kindness, warmth and love on his face is really exceptional. It was facing me today and the love on his face moved me to tears. Pope Francis has the same kind of face and aura around him.

and I have kept you and given you as a covenant to the people,
To restore the land
and allot the desolate heritages,
Saying to the prisoners: Come out!
To those in darkness: Show yourselves!

n.b. There is a plenary indulgence if you receive the Pope's blessing - even if received through the electronic media. You can voluntarily bequeath it to a soul in purgatory for their release and ransom. A soul who has nobody to pray for them - or lay it at the feet of Our Lady and tell her to use it as she sees fit - for the living or the dead. A win win.
pps - ChurchMilitantTV reports that it is confirmed that he took the name after St. Francis of Assisi.

I too winced at hearing he was a Jesuit, but now I think, maybe he'll clean up the blaggards.
Had no idea a priest anywhere in the world would refuse to baptize the baby of a single mother. That is barbaric. Assuming they are practicing Catholics, which stipulation should apply to ALL baptism.
Delicious contrast: a man who so loves aids victims that he kisses their feet, while condemning the homosexuality for the victims it leave in its wake.
A Jesuit who eschewed the ivory tower!

Kelly , yes. Just view it. I would assume all of the other attributes to receive apply. Confession and blesses sacrament within Few days. Will confirm.
Sully, so nice to hear from you. I think there was a Mass with Puppets. I cant bring myself to watch it yet. He has so many other attributes we need at this time to draw in love, clean the corruption, I am resting in Christ with hope and joy.

I hope the first thing that PFI tackles is the queer problem. If he goes after them first, some of the other problems will be taken care of automatically.
I also must admit my cynicism when I heard that Pope Francis was a Jesuit - conditioning, I guess! Worse, I feel ashamed that after so many prayers to the Holy Spirit to bless and guide the Conclave, that I would doubt that would be exactly what happened! Bravo to the Cardinals for their discernment in what must have been very difficult circumstances. I am humbled by being reminded that God will continue to send us true shepherds, especially in these times! Maybe this is exactly what His Holiness, Benedict XVI knew would happen/prayed for to happen. He is also in my prayers and I am comforted that he will continue to intercede with his prayers.
I was watching an airplane TV screen (with no headphone sound) as Pope Francis first appeared on the balcony. So I could only see his face and expressions as he spoke, and I totally concur about the aura of love and gentleness he projects. Everything I've read and heard subsequently has confirmed that. Thank you, dear Holy Spirit.
just a little point of clarification....we aren't guaranteed that the cardinals will always pick the man the Holy Spirit 'wants'. We're guaranteed that the man they pick will not teach error in Faith and Morals. It is the difference between God's permissive will and His perfect (sovereign) will. Ergo, their discernment of the Holy Spirit's will isn't a given, due solely to the fact that they selected Peter's successor.
That being said, Habemus Papam. Praying for our Holy Father, and a strong, holy, blessed pontificate.

Let me articulate what we want. We want everyone struggling with sin, seeking the healing Sacraments of Christto feel welcome in every parish in the Archdiocese. Because you are.
When your presence starts demanding the restriction and silence of Church teaching on the necessity for SSA persons to be celibate, parents with children-the families sitting beside you in the pew are deprived of the tools they need to properly form their conscience. Consequently,they are sent into the world to face temptation with the tools of depravation and ignorance and seek pleasure in the carnal.
You are not welcome to conduct yourself inside of any ministry in the Roman Catholic Church with these restrictions. If that makes you feel unwelcome -so be it. The Catholic Church is a place where we all come to learn how to deprive ourselves of sinful things we are attracted to.
What we are saying here is, the agenda to silence these teachings is finished.
There is nothing 'hateful' about it.
When your presence demands the dimwitted priests host Sacrifice of the Holy Mass themed to takepride in the seven deadly sins or the hosting of speakers who promoting
homoerotic,theoloical porn,promiscuity, that is not welcome.
Again, there is nothing 'hateful' about putting the squeezola on the people in the Chancery who don't give a flying fig about where your soul resides in your eternal life. They are using you for your money-what you bring in your wallet ever week is too important to them to stop these priests.
No good deed going unpunished, all you ever do to people have the decency and fortitude to try to stop them from perverting and robbing souls is call them hateful.
All you ever do when objections are raised to their disordered sex agenda is call people hateful.
I want to be clear.
When all the dust settles from the election of St. Francis to the Papacy, we are circling back to the Vicar General and Cardinal and we are puttin the paper trail on his desk. We are going to inform him that if it isn't stopped by a certain date, we are heading to the Nuncio. I am personally going to fly to Washington DC with the paper trail and meet with the Nuncio to ask him to seek the intercession of the Holy See and Pope. We'll give him six weeks to fix the problem and if it isn't fixed,we are going to call in our chits at the Vatican and fly over to Rome with the paper trail in our hands.
When we hand it over, we are going to give them some time to pull the plugs. I doubt this Holy Father is going to play the games that have been played for the last thirty years.
But as God is my witness, we are about to find out.
