Pope Urges Catholics to Go to Confessions - Secular Newspapers Do Not Report.

Spectacular sermon on Confession from the Holy Father.

Go directly to confession, do not wait.

Nice commentary and some substance from the Pope's remarks here.

I suppose the good news is, they didn't bash him?

Fox News also was silent about this.

And just once in a while I wish the holy Father or a PRIEST would preach about the Rules of the church or don't they apply anymore? 40 yrs no confession wouldn't that be a sin in it self?
1. To respectfully and devoutly assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on all Sundays and Holydays of Obligation.

2. To fast and abstain on the days appointed.

3. To go to Confession at least once a year during the Easter Season.

4. To receive the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist at least once a year during the Easter Season.

5. To contribute financially (i.e. give money) to the support of the Catholic Church.

6. To never violate the laws concerning the Sacrament of Matrimony.

And the Pope said this:
"What is reconciliation? Taking one from this side, taking another one for that side and uniting them: no, that’s part of it but it's not it ... True reconciliation means that God in Christ took on our sins and He became the sinner for us. When we go to confession, for example, it isn’t that we say our sin and God forgives us. No, not that! We look for Jesus Christ and say: 'This is your sin, and I will sin again'. And Jesus likes that, because it was his mission: to become the sinner for us, to liberate us. "

You better not go to confession Pope Francis-style. It seems he has never heard that this would be a sacrilegous confession because there is no intention to stop sinning.

Five more years with this Pope and there´s nothing left of Catholicism.
