When the venerable Fr John F O'Conner OP of Chicago died in 2006 his passing was marked with little or no importance. He was maligned and abused by his order because he fought to maintain church teaching on homosexual lifestyle and he tried to expose the terrible infiltration of homosexuals in the seminaries and positions of power ...namely one Joseph Bernadine and the head of his Dominican chapter....who is still in good standing and whose name eludes me right now. Suffice it to say The wonders of McBrien will be marveled over while the memory of holy faithful priests will be cast into the proverbial dust heap...especially during this papacy.
Anonymous, would the head of the Dominican chapter be a one Timothy Radcliffe, OP? He is on his way to our diocese (a repeat visitor) to lead a mission at one of the local parishes in Feb.
"He's a priest in good standing" is the only answer I get when I write to object about his presence here. As with Rev McBrien-clearly- both dissent from church teaching and have for years..and there isn't a care or concern about it. +
Caroline look at the you tubes on Radcliffe....just type in his name on you tube .com . He's a disaster and definitely pro homo! My prayers are with you and your parish. Someone left a good link above from renew America about Fr O'Connor. The Radcliffe buffoon is what the Dominicans have become and as I said there's plenty to listen to from him on you tube.
Something similar happened to our parish some years back. A Fr. Jude Siciliano, OP and a Sr. Patricia Bruno, OP, came to conduct a mission whereby she had her own "agape" rite and she delivered the homily at a Sunday Mass.
A reported them to our Bishop, citing parts of Redemptionis Sacramentum for good measure.
Now the "Dominican mission team" does not come here anymore.

May God have mercy on his soul.

Well. He's already met his Maker, wonder how that went...
Still I'll say a prayer, I'm sure there's a soul in Purgatory that can use it.
In reference to Fr. John F. O'Connor please see following web page for information:
