Catechized Catholics Upset with Our Holy Father's Shtick

Newspapers are reporting today that catechized Catholics disapprove of Pope Francis' shtick.

The pope’s popularity fell the most among U.S. adults who identify as conservative, with just 45 percent saying they viewed the Argentine favourably in a poll conducted from July 8-12. That was down from 72 percent who viewed him favourably in February 2014.

You start to take an inventory of the damage done to moral compasses of loved ones, the advance of communism, spiritual mayhem caused by the appointment and approval of heretics -- and it would take extraordinary effort to find a pearl in the pig pen.

The summit this week with Mayors was an absolute...nutter.

Here is a group of political leaders who are sexualizing children, committing spiritual homicides and facilitating the murder of innocents and the Pope is telling them the weather is a human being and they are the moral consciences of humanity. This is a man with custody over the moral conscience of humanity left to us by Christ: the Deposit of Faith.

Earlier this week, Fr. Lombardi made some startling statements about his own confusion. That is pretty startling. Here is a theologian with decades of communications experience admitting he can't make heads or tails out of the shtick. How would the Holy Father expect teenage children and young adults to make heads or tails out of the theological chaos?

Further, this post by Donald McClarey paints a...peculiar picture.

The papal spokesman limns a picture of a leader who doesn’t give clear directions, doesn’t communicate with his staff, and (at least in diplomatic affairs) doesn’t have a strategic vision.

“No one knows all of what he’s doing,” Lombardi says. “His personal secretary doesn’t even know. I have to call around: One person knows one part of his schedule, someone else knows another part.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Flying by the seat of our pants.

This is a job for Mary Undoer of Knots!

Prayers and sacrifices are needed for the Pope and if you do so without turning on the air conditioning you are obedient to his stated number 1 priority

I suggest a petition be developed and circulated via blog network for the removal of Pope Francis. This kind of thing might get some more national media attention on this diabolical issue. Every day more and more souls are being lost due to him. He renders advocacy for Catholic doctrine ineffective by the carelessness of his moral attitude and confusing remarks. He has got to go. Go Francis Go.

I second Michael's proposal for a petition to remove this Pope.

I'd like to think he's ignorant and innocent, but I'm leaning towards he knows exactly what he's doing. Confusion is the work of the devil.
Seriously though, I think it's best to ignore him. The catechized Catholics know their Faith, stand our ground in the parish churches, Francis can't change The Doctrine of Faith. He can do a lot of damage but he can't change it. We're in for a very rocky September here in the U.S.!

Many years ago, there was a cult leader by the name of Herbert W Armstrong. He taught a religious creed that borrowed from so many different sources that people had a hard time figuring out what he actually taught. As a result, many Protestant evangelicals dubbed him with the nickname, "Mr. Confusion". Well, the original Mr. Confusion died over thirty years ago, but I believe Pope Francis has inherited the title!

I think you have misread the original article. It states that 89% of Catholics originally approved of the Pope, and 71% now do.

The 45% figure comes from a survey of American conservatives of any religious identity.

I may have as I can say with absolute certainty that I do not know a single catechized Catholic -- not a single soul -- who approves of Pope Francis shtick. The article notes his popularity has declined -- and sister, that ain't the half of it!

lol you people just don't get it. Vicar of Christ and best pope ever, well, except maybe for St Peter--and that from a through and through Catholic who knows and practices his faith

You are talking to a group of Catholics who are incapable of seeing the construction of Mapplethorpe on the Holy ground where Peter was crucified upside down for teaching the deposit of faith as 'the best pope eva'.

NO DOUBT!

Consolamini. Thanks for the irony. Be one of the first in your neighborhood to sign the 'Francis Gotta Go' petition. Impress your friends with your papal perspicacity.

Michel Dowd is right. Enough of this. Are there no cardinals or bishops with a Catholic backbone left? Stand up to this man and boot him out.

I have to force myself to pray for him. He's worse than an abusive father of a family. That father can harm the body, this man is killing souls. Do you know how many I know that have already stopped attending Mass on account of him and his insanity?

The only Catholics that approve of him are those who don't really know the faith and those who hope he will legitimize their sinful lifestyles.

I'll never forget what the POTUS said about him a few months ago. He said that only Francis could change minds; he could only put policies into practice. So far, Francis is proving to be his best friend.

what kind of "Catholics" read your blog??? Catechized???? like it or not, there is no way to depose a pope. it isn't a matter of whether Cardinals or bishops have backbone, the Pope is the Pope and he is irremovable. sorry y'all don't like Francis, but your stuck with him and not only stuck with him, you (we) owe him obedience and respect or one simply is not a Catholic.

If the Holy Father reveals himself to have been elected by the queens to contradict Church teaching, his See most certainly has the power to kick him to the curb. We are all waiting to see what kind if stunt is pulled at the next synod. The last one was orchestrated by the queens and had the collaboration and blessing of the Holy Father, God Bless him.

There are numerous petitions by lay people, priests and conferences if bishops asking the pope to uphold Church teaching. If that isn't an indictment of his behavior, nothing is!

I think several conferences if bishops are prepared to protect and defend their flock from Cardinal Kasper's errors should Pope Francis give us an encore at October's synod. They have already gone on the record as saying such.

We will just have to see what happens. The possibilities are not edifying.

God bless and protect the Holy Father from all evil!!

Consolamini, when I read your first post I wondered if you were a faith-filled and devout Catholic who could see something we might not. Then I read your second post. It's a relief to realize you are just an ignorant Neo-Cath, as that confirms my opinion that Francis is nuts. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm ashamed for you people for the vitriolic froth of bile oozing from your oceans of Papal moroseness. Señor Bergolio is not only a fine shepherd, he is also one of the greatest sheep of all time! I double-dare any of you wisenheimers to just try and be Pope. I oughtta round up all you dilettantes and drop you off at the first Confessional I find and make double-darn sure you confess your sins of smugness. Papa Francis is working double-time to make sure you drink good water and breathe good air. Next he's gonna work on a living wage so that our Mexican señoritas can marry and have good babies without working by ironing your underwear to pay their mortgages in a house in your neighborhoods! I never heard such whining in my life since I left Romania.

The Holy Father is indeed working overtime to make sure we drink good water and breathe clean air. He's also hand-picked some episcopal queens to suggest monogamous adultery and sodomy and receiving the Blessed Sacrament in a state of mortal sin is chicken soup for the soul.

You're taking comfort that the Holy Father is working overtime to make sure the following the advice of the queens have clean air and water after rolling off of their lovers.

And you think we need confession? Please.

The Holy Father himself has said he wants know what is going down in his own family - why Catechized Catholics are so upset with him. As he should.

Breathnatch - LOL.

And by the by ybear, As a mother gone 12 hours a day to live in my neighborhood, there is something to be said for taking money out of my paycheck to give non-american women extra money in their paychecks. I'd say it, but I think the commie Crucifix said it better.

Well the Holy Father keeps telling people to "Make a mess!" I suppose he's leading by example.

Lazarus Gethsemane said...

The Holy Spirit does not "Hagan lío!” (create a mess - raise hell) within the Church. That is the calling-card of The Father of Lies - The Murderer From the Beginning. That should have been everyone's first clue.

I am so sick and tired of the cottage industry of (what Francis REALLY said) that has sprouted like weeds around this pope. St Augustine famously noted:

"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself." ~ St Augustine of Hippo

And yet - what we get from the politico Bergoglio is not truth, but rather, confusion, chaos, division, constant obfuscation of clear doctrine, and an unprecedented elevation of man and physical manna, and all at the detriment of immutable Truths and doctrines within the church itself. And all in an effort to unify the world as if IT were the new "church". But one can never unify the world with the Church. That is a false and heretical premise. Our Dear Lord clearly stated that He came specifically to DIVIDE the world - even families - and yet He openly prayed that the Church would be one. So yet again - we find Bergoglio ignoring Our Savior's clear directives - and instead opting to do things HIS way. Because the "humble" Bergogligo NEVER listens to anyone but Bergoglio. And that has been the mainstay of his dysfunctional narcissistic personality from the start. And that is EXACTLY why his own Jesuit community sent him into exile in the early 90's.

Many of the corrupt liberal clerics in the college of cardinals (which is the majority) knew about Bergoglio, and that is exactly why they launched an illicit internal campaign to elect him to the papacy. Don't think for one blessed moment that this chaos and destruction wasn't pre-planned beyond Bergoglio.

The Devil has unprecedented powers these days. And he has invested a century's worth of infiltration and confusion and blatant heresy into the Church. And his rotten fruits are now "ripe" for the harvesting. And you will soon see this in the Sin-Odd of the Family. Brace yourselves as sacrilege is officially sanctioned as a new virtue. It's coming - and no can claim that they haven't been warned. God's Truth and Man's Convenient Lies will soon divide the Church like never before....

Excellent post Lazarus Gethsemane. There is more than the smoke of Satan in the Church right now; it's on the verge of a conflagration.

There is one person in the Church who can remonstrate with the present Pope. Francis made a vow he cannot change. It was to the Head of the Jesuits.
