Groundhog Day at the Braintree Bunker

Once a year, the Archdiocese of Boston holds a ritual to confirm they are still paying Terry Donilon's bloated salary. Cardinal O'Malley found Terry's political activism for proabort politicians such an asset for the sanctification of our people, he recruited him to be his Secretary of Communications.

Boston Catholics had quite a few run-ins with Terry.

Readers outside of Boston may remember him for the PR campaign he ran to elect Cardinal O'Malley pope.

Terry described their family aspirations in this WaPo article:

One Donilon brother “working for the most powerful man on the planet and the other one could work for the most powerful religious leader on the planet?” mused Terry on Saturday,

But, the Holy See did not find the Cardinal O'Malley for pope campaign very "musing". We didn't see or hear too much from Terry after that.

But once a year, just like Punxsutawney Phil, the archdiocese sends Terry into the public square to announce an initiative.

This year, Terry let us know Cardinal O'Malley is concerned about carbon footprints and is going to spend thousands in contributions turning the Chancery into an solar power grid for 100 homes.

With the state of affairs on matters of the soul, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how their brain could ever think about and 'worry' about carbon footprints.

It's like a conductor after recklessly derailing his train, tell us how much he's taking care of God's universe by using an led flashlight to walk over the broken bodies.

Gives a whole new meaning to that old saying...The lights are on, but there's nobody home.

Why on earth would a financially-struggling diocese who can't pay their priests medical bills and pensions, hope that parishes would spend money they don't have on carbon footprints?

Our people are uncatechized. Just do your job and leave worries about electricity to National Grid. That's their job.

They are after a new world order silly. If you live in Hell, your feet are covered in carbon ash. Carbon footprints indeed. 'Paparazzi'Sean likes the camera and stands for little more than photo opportunities. The RCAB has been a parody for many years, a quasi-catholic non-profit.

It is hard to keep the tears back and the anger contained after so many years of praying and working to save the sinking ship. Realization comes at some point that the crew is purposefully letting water in the bow.

TTC,

The answer to your enquiry comes via G.K. Chesterton:

"When Man ceases to worship God he does not worship nothing but
worships EVERYTHING."
