Cain's making an announcement today...

Ya think it will be I never had sex with that woman?

I feel so sorry for his wife. His ambition dragged her into the public square to have the whole thing blow up in her face.

I heard him say the other day that stupid people were ruining America. Sadly, I think he is one of them.

The Cain Mutiny

I have a confession.

When madame #4 came forward with with Gloria Ambulance Chaswer and a swoopdiedoo hairdoo covering one eye (a little long in the tooth for that, lady!) to tell her story about being unemployed and staying at the Capitol Hilton and the dinner date that went awry, I had a desperado moment. I thought to myself: Even if he is a pig, he's still better than Romney!

Ugh. I am starting to get an icky feeling. Four women is a lot of women. Why would you get into the race when you know there's a trail of women with whom you were sexually inappropriate?

You've got to love the hypocrisy of the dems. Bill Clinton? Ted Kennedy, who left one of his objects of desire at the bottom of the Atlantic - that's all good. It's Cain that should be run out of town.

BTW - Is the Capitol Hilton where unemployed women stay? I hate to sound like a prude - but would you hook up on an overnight to meet a married man for dinner to talk about a job?

You call the guy at work don't you? Wouldn't you meet him at his office? Starbucks?

Why would there be a rendezvous in a hotel that required an overnight stay?

Wouldn't that be your first clue the guy might have something else on his mind?

Not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.

Gingrich is starting to look like the best one in the bunch.

Herman Cain has had a rather exciting week, eh?

I know the candidates I don't like in the 2012 race for POTUS but I'm not invested in any particular candidate, including Cain. But I have to tell you, as I watched the asinine media blitz about the 'smoking' commercial, the twisting of everything he says - I thought to myself "Heh. Even the democrats aren't this weird. Where have I seen this before?"

All of a sudden, it hit me: The Romneybots.

Look, the ad was high-school quality and a bit strange, but only thing I got out of it was he must not have a team of professionals put together yet.

He definitely isn't politically seasoned. It's early...and I hate to say it...but it's not like there's another horse in the race. Perry is starting to look like an empty suit. Romney is a train-wreck. I like Newt and I'll get behind him if his campaign gets a lift, but I'm not sure he can pull it off. They will crucify Michelle. I don't trust Santorum. Paul is a screwball.

We're going to have to lower the bar on something and as far as I'm concerned, the seasoning and polish are not substantive. I'm tired of the phonies who are coached in the back room by pros.

As far as the abortion-related question with his grandaughter, I think that was a family-related and personal question - not a political question. I've heard his views on pro-life and I am satisfied with them. There's nothing to be gained by saying there are no exceptions to abortion, unless that's exactly the way he feels. The phoney pros dance around that question. Even prolifers who are cowards dance around that question. He's convicted.

The 'sexual harassment' thing could be something or could be nothing. I don't mean to undermine sexual harassment because it can be devastating if true. But until I hear more, it's a big yawn for me. I've seen too many men in the professional world have a bunch of nothing blown up by a woman with a chip on her shoulder.

The more this thing plays out, I'd say I agree with MaryAnn Kreitzer. It isn't persuading me away from him, if anything, he's starting to look a little better.

The GOP Line Up

Well, watching the debate this week sure was a painful experience.

I just can't get over Romney. Every time he has media coverage, he reinvents himself into somebody else. A lot of us here in Massachusetts ask where the prolife politician with a jobs plan and a great healthcare program when he was Governor. All we ever saw was a prochoicer, high unemployment and the healthcare plan he invented that is bankrupting the Commonwealth.

And how about the nastygrams flying between Romney, Perry and Santorum? Evidently, being likable isn't an attribute they think is important. I thought Rick's performance was abysmal. He was downright mean. Not a pretty sight.

Ron Paul, God Bless him...but what an odd duck.

I'll tell you something, Newt is starting to look like the best in the bunch. At least the man is affable and kind and he's with us on life.

Cain is likable, he's got some great answers but I can't figure out if it's inexperience that is making him shoot his mouth off or if he's full of crap. If he didn't have the electric fence faux pas out there earlier this week I'd be ready to say fugghetaboutit. On the one hand, I can't imagine an authentic prolifer ever saying if the situation came in their family, abortion is a choice that's up to the mother. On the other hand, he claims his conviction on abortion are no exceptions and he'll appoint judges who will protect the child's constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - which isn't exactly going to win him a popularity context. At this point, I think we should hold our fire but I'm not ready to jump on the bandwagon yet.

In a race you'd almost have to sabotage to lose, we've got some challenges ahead of us.

Herman Cain Leading New National Polls

Got to love this.

As the worm turns, Christie backed a fraud. These people never cease to amaze me.

Herman Cain and the Catholic Vote

With my finger on the pulse of the Catholic Vote, as it stands today, Herman Cain is coming out at the top of the list.

Up until the last few weeks, there hasn't been an palpable energy. Cain seems to be picking up some momentum in the grassroots.

If Christie joins the fracus, we'll have another option. Frankly, my gut tells me there's some kind of skeleton or two in the closet and he's just not going to take the chance of scandalizing his family and his career. Hope I'm wrong but there's something about his no thank yous - given the state of affairs - that make me wonder if there's some video of him while in college in his underpants and a toga with a bong in one hand and a beer in the other making some regretful remarks.

Romney is a trainwreck. His affect is too weird. As Dylan lyrics go, he just wants to be on the side that;s winning. When it comes to moving prolife agendas, we experienced his real convictions here in Massachusetts. He is THE master of political charades. He works against us under the radar. He is full of dung.

Perry is calibrated a couple of hundred notches to left of George Sr. Not a bad man, certainly a man of prayer, a lover of God - but his discretion is just not there. Killing 300 people is way over the top. He supported Guiliani in the last race and the HPV thing tells us his convictions about the poor and women are way off base. In the end, if we are stuck with him, he's shown he can come to the party and we will have to get on the ship but he is just too tardy to get out in front with him in a Catholic effort.

Santorum is a good man, but the Spector spectacle leaves me less than edified about his discretion and his book will become a boogeyman. The rest just don't have any momentum at all.

Perhaps we should do some diligence on Cain and see what's beneath the surface.
