Not looking good for the BU Med student

The plastic handcuffs, guns, ammunition, his IP address and cell phone records incriminating him.

Good-looking young man, promising career, good family -- a gambling addiction stole his sanity - how devastating for all of them. A beautiful fiance with an upcoming fairy-tale wedding is on the first leg of the journey of the gripping grief of death and dying, denial.

“Unfortunately, the Boston Police try to make money out of these things and release things without my knowledge or consent,”

After the shock wears off, if she has honest, reliable, sane family and friends to help her transition, she'll start to recall the red flags she drowned out.

**UPDATE: Colleagues describe a man plagued by mood swings, depression and other behaviors that indicated he was disturbed:

Montgomery said she is "not even remotely surprised" that authorities have charged Markoff with the murder of Julissa Brisman, who advertised on the "erotic services" section on Craigslist. "He just wasn't right in the head, and I knew it, and probably other people did, too," said Montgomery, 26, who spent hours with him each day in the lab.

"My friends from the lab group have confirmed that 'you weren't the only one feeling that way,' " she said. "I got the impression he was really disturbed."

Perhaps it would be wise to allow the man to be tried fairly by a jury of his peers before we conclude anything about him, his fiancee or family.

I suppose you're right. Let's not be hasty about wrist ties, guns, IP address leading to his apartment and calls to the women from his cell phone.
