Jim Towey's Appointment at Ave Maria

Really, really good news for Ave Maria. Jim's catechesis is solid. He's bright, loving, energetic and has just the right pastoral approach.

I'm delighted!

Jim Towey shares one important opinion with Tom Monaghan:

When Tom Monaghan started Ave Maria University, he said, “This is the most important thing I can do with what God gave me, and I've got a lot of making up to do. God gave me a lot and showed me it is not impossible to use it to help people get to heaven.”

When Jim Towey started as president at St. Vincent College, he said, "[M]y hope is that one day we're all together in heaven. For individuals here at the college, setting their sights on a diploma is too low. They should be setting their sights on heaven."

That's what I'm talking about!

There have been numerous problems at Ave. We're all aware of them. But Tom's heart and mission are in the right place.

Towey is a kind and good man, a man who desires to give the students the tools to get to heaven, to be good leaders, parents, people. He will go a long way to healing the wounds and divisions and turning the swords into plowshares.
