“Since the university has not withdrawn the invitation and because the Taoiseach [prime minister] has not seen fit to decline, I shall not attend the graduation,’’ O’Malley said in a statement. “It is my ardent hope that Boston College will work to redress the confusion, disappointment and harm caused by not adhering to the Bishops’ directives.’’That Fr. Leahy would defiantly refuse to obey Church teaching and the directive of his religious superior certainly makes him dangerous. I'm imagining there is going to be accountability and consequences.
I would also say that in light of Fr. Leahy's defiance, it appears that the burden to do the right thing shifted to Enda - who also did not find the humility and see fit to withdraw his scandalous presence.
May the cat eat them and the divil eat the cat.
