Cardinal O'Malley Evicts Retiring Priests in Boston

Our friends and colleagues at BCI have the sad story of one priestwho was served up with eviction notices sent to senior priests in Boston.

Fr. Connelly, who is 90 years of age, is not the only senior priest who received the eviction notice. The letter to retired priests said the pastor wants you to vacate the rectory, pack your belongings and get out, you are homeless and need to find your own place to live. The priests, naturally, were and are extremely upset to receive the disturbing notice.

The kind of charity one finds in hell.

With all the property they own, all the rectories with empty bedrooms, they told our senior priests that they are homeless.

 My Jesus Mercy.

What kind of people could do such a thing? It is heartless. They throw their sick and elderly into the gutter like empty wallets.

Get out nana and gramps and take your stuff with you. We are done putting a roof over your head and feeding you.

It is frightening. Truly, it is.

Ok, this is enough! The Crusade has to march! This is outrageous ! Shortage of Priest my behind! The Priest I know, recently evicted, was only 65. I suppose these Priests may be too afraid of retribution from the Cardinal, like have their Health Insurance canceled if they protest too much but can't we? Suggestions? I'll stand out in front of where ever for signatures... Come Lord Jesus Come!

How heartbreaking, but what an example of holy obedience this dear elderly priest has shown...that said I could spit bullets!! He`s one among many here in Boston who are cast aside due to their orthodoxy. Our Cardinal is either asleep at the wheel or he`s traveling to Rome to aid Pope Francis in his reorganization at the Vatican.

O'Malley (and others) reminds me of the words of St. John Eudes

"The most evident mark of God's anger, and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world, is manifest when He permits His people to fall into the hands of a clergy who are more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than the charity and affection of devoted shepherds. They abandon the things of God to devote themselves to the things of the world and, in their saintly calling of holiness, they spend their time in profane and worldly pursuits. When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people and is visiting His most dreadful wrath upon them."

[14]Return, O ye revolting children, saith the Lord: for I am your husband: and I will take you, one of a city, and two of a kindred, and will bring you into Sion. [15]And I will give you pastors according to my own heart, and they shall feed you with knowledge and doctrine.
