If Cardinal O'Malley gets appointed as suggested in the article, does that mean he will move to Rome and we can then expect a new leader in the Archdiocese of Boston?
Yes and that was something we all would have welcomed in the days when the pope was Catholic.
Appointing O'Malley will bet he icing on the Vatican, I'd like to get rid of him but that will cinch his being the next Pope, God have Mercy!
Lots and lots of prayers needed either way
