Is Stupak a Compulsive Liar?

If ever I entertained the notion Stupak might have been naively acting in good faith, this confirms that delusion:

Stupak said today there are no abortions going on at Planned Parenthood, they're just nice people down the street giving his constituents health care.

In his Times interview, Stupak also defended Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion business.
"Planned Parenthood does not do abortions…in my district. Planned Parenthood has a number of clinics in my district that provide health care for my people. Therefore, these clinics do quite well in my district, and I'm all for health care and extending it to everybody--access to health care, so that’s just another way," he said.

However, the Times notes that both Planned Parenthood abortion centers list abortion referrals on their web site of "services" provided.

He said several scandalous things in the past few days but the above takes the cake.

Stupak and the Emancipation Proclamation

Wither the Executive Oder?

Are they not even going to bother with the smoke and mirrors?

Not a word was said about it today. Meanwhile, Stupak is acting like he's overturned Roe v. Wade.

He compared the Executive Oder to...Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.

Stupak released a statement today defending the as-yet-unsigned executive order, placing it on a list of other significant orders that included Abraham Lincoln's 1863 Emancipation Proclamation and Harry Truman's 1948 order desegregating the U.S. armed forces.

"Throughout history, Executive Orders have been an important means of implementing public policy," Stupak said in a statement. "The most famous Executive Order was the Emancipation Proclamation signed by President Lincoln in 1863."

A couple of problems there Swifty. Lincoln was a ferocious anti-slavery advocate. Obama is a ferocious abortion advocate. See a problem with the sincerity?

More importantly, the proclamation was a prohibition against slavery, not an order restricting the use of taxpayer dollars to carry out enslavement of human beings.

I guess we're done now as a country with any claim that abortion is not the killing an unborn child?

Since the President has agreed that if you're going pay people to kill other people, don't use the taxpayer's money to do it, has that intellectual dishonesty finally been put out of it's misery?

The Stupak-negotiated abortion executive order has drawn withering criticism from pro-life groups. Stupak called the attacks "disingenuous."

“This Executive Order has the full force and effect of law and makes very clear that current law of no public funding for abortion applies to the new health care reform legislation," Stupak's statement said.

Right up until the time they send some guinea pig into court to challenge it.

Democrats Stand Up for the Sanctity of Life

I've watched Bart Stupak's balderdash now several times and I just can't get over the dishonesty of it.

I guess we are late to the party. All we had to do after Roe v. Wade was have Ronald Reagan draw up an Executive Order barring abortion in the United States.

He's got to be kidding with that nonsense.

Over 50 million babies have been executed in the womb, some of them decapitated alive through the initiatives of the Democrats.

Someone had the decency to shout babykiller at him on the floor. God sees what you are doing dude.

I love the comment posted by Fr. Vince Fitzpatrick on this thread.

Kevon really outdoes Cardinal Bernardin, too, in larding up the term "pro-life" to include "keeping insurance costs down," "no more arbitrary premium hikes, etc. etc.

Why EVERYTHING is "pro-life"! More fuzzy teddy bears for the children is pro-life! Filling potholes is pro-life! Weatherizing houses is pro-life! More rent-a-mobs from ACORN is pro-life! Wheee! So I can be a good Catholic AND keep voting for the baby-killers again and again and again--because they are for so many, many things that are "pro-life"!

There have been some positive developments. To no one's surprise, LCWR and NETWORK came out for baby-killing. But so did the CHA. It's always progress when some "Catholic" organization stops working behind the scenes for abortion, and starts working for it out in the open.

Thing is: the pro-abortion sisters at LCWR and NETWORK can be pro-abortion and keep their jobs. So can the people who run the Catholic Hospital Association.

The bishops at the USCCB who have done so much to promote Obama's agenda know that they can't keep their jobs and support abortion publicly. But they will continue to do everything they can to strengthen the pro-aborts' iron grip on government--as they have been doing for forty years. They are already shipping out the mail-in postcards for amnesty for illegal aliens--i.e., permanent pro-abortion-voting-bloc expansion.

I noticed that Bart Stupak, in speaking against the Stupak amendment, started spouting Seamless Garment rhetoric, the first, last, and always refuge of the pro-abortion "Catholic." Cardinal Bernardin, the Best Friend the Abortionists Ever Had--EVER, continues from the grave his brilliant, evil work of sowing intellectual, moral, and rhetorical chaos.

The number of souls being hoodwinked by the devil is gut-wrenching
