All women are deeply attached to their ethnic roots, their heritage, family history. There's an intimacy and connectedness.

Ergo, how I cringe when I see an Irish woman joining the lunatic fringe and making an ass of herself in the public square.

Over the years, Maureen Dowd has been a humiliating cultural reminder to me of the infirmities generations of Irish families have worked so hard to overcome.

This time it was her op-ed "boy, oh boy". When Joe Wilson said "you lie", in her mind she heard the word "boy" and therefore "you lie, boy" is proof positive opposition to Barack's socialist agenda is really about the color of his skin.

I’ve been loath to admit that the shrieking lunacy of the summer — the frantic efforts to paint our first black president as the Other, a foreigner, socialist, fascist, Marxist, racist, Commie, Nazi; a cad who would snuff old people; a snake who would indoctrinate kids — had much to do with race.

Just when the Obama-Gates frenzy is subsiding? Can the President survive another absurd racial accusation?

I'm suspicious of people who always see things through the color of people's skin when it isn't there.

Latent racism. Thou doth protest too much.

The White House dismissed Dowd's racial accusations this morning.

Asked about the claim, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said race is not the factor.

"I don't think the president believes that people are upset because of the color of his skin," he said on CNN's "State of the Union."

Put the crack pipe down girlfriend. Preserve the dignity of our heritage and get yourself some logic to back up your convictions.

Still, Wilson's success -- despite having been criticized by Republican leaders -- represents the power of the conservative grassroots to reward politicians who confront the White House in the sharpest terms

The grassroots has taken over control. We've got to wield it early and often to get the President we want in the White House in 2012. The powerful regime of cash cows that has controlled and destroyed the GOP start their grooming and lobbying just about now. Their portfolios are diminished and the grassroots has the momentum.
