As everyone knows by now, Muslims are erecting an in your face monument to their victories at the 911 site in New York.
Barack Hussein Obama, not surprisingly, backed the Muslim effort.
What is offensive to anyone who is logical, is his use of the inane soundbyte that the controversy is all about 'religious freedom'
"That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in Lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances," he said. "This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable."
Seriously?
It isn't a building of a mosque that the American people object to, it is the place where they want to build it, given the carnage at the hands of their own people.
It would be the same disrespect of Germans proposing to build a Nazi museum over Auschwitz and having the President in the White House saying this is all about "freedom of speech".
Like the Klu Klux Klan building a Confederate Meeting House over the historical park at Gettysburg, it is a symbol and an act of defiance and a monument of their hatred.
There is no respect for the dead or for our country in the Muslim effort to build a mosque at a site where their own people committed the heinous acts on September 11th.
What else would we expect from Obama, with the middle name of Hussein, who refused to release his birth certificate when the information was found that he registered as a Muslim citizen of another country.
Obama elevated it to a presidential issue Friday without equivocation.
While insisting that the place where the towers once stood was indeed "hallowed ground," Obama said that the proper way to honor it was to apply American values.
"Our capacity to show not merely tolerance, but respect to those who are different from us - a way of life that stands in stark contrast to the nihilism of those who attacked us on that September morning, and who continue to plot against us today," he said.
My contempt for this filthy animal probably is in need of a confessor.
Sarah Palin has stayed on his tail.
In his speech, Obama said: "I understand the emotions that this issue engenders. Ground Zero is, indeed, hallowed ground."
Palin lashed out in her brief post. "Mr. President, should they or should they not build a mosque steps away from where radical Islamists killed 3000 people?" she wrote. "Please tell us your position. We all know that they have the right to do it, but should they? And, no, this is not above your pay grade."
"My intention was to simply let people know what I thought, which was that in this country we treat everyone equally, in accordance with the law, regardless of race regardless of religion. I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making a decision to put a mosque there."
Later in the day, White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said Obama was not backing down on his Friday night remarks. Instead, Burton said, "It is not his role as president to pass judgment on every local project."
We treat everyone equal do we.
How would he feel about David Duke building a place of worship across the street from the White House?
Like some Roman Catholic Bishops around town, Barack Hussein Obama thinks everyone is ignorant of what is going down.
One Palin follower wrote: "Doesn't this shlub Obama read history? The Muslims for centuries have built mosques on top of areas where there have won a major victory. They believe that killing over 3000 Americans is a major victory."
John Boehner
echoes the the sentiment of Americans:
"This is not an issue of law, whether religious freedom or local zoning," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. "This is a basic issue of respect for a tragic moment in our history."
Another comment worth reading:
Sen. John Cornyn, D-Texas, on Fox News Sunday: "It's unwise to build a mosque at the site where 3,000 Americans lost their lives as a result of a terrorist attack. And I think to me it demonstrates that Washington, the White House, the administration, the president himself seems to be disconnected from the mainstream of America."
The governor of New York has offered to find another location for the mosque but has thus far
been rejected.
Are all Muslims responsible for 911?
No. But when a large number of your own people hate America and plot and carry out an attack upon our country, there is dignity and respect owed to the victims of the act.
This is why, though this generation and the many before it are not responsible for slavery, there are many efforts in this country to this day that are sensitive to what happened and go overboard in offering palliative initiatives to the wounds created by those years.
There is no excuse for this in your face monument to the victories of death and destruction, or of the President's support for the effort.
Realizing Obama has crossed the Rubicon, the White House is out recalibrating the message:
Faced with withering Republican criticism of his defense of the right of Muslims to build a community center andmosque near ground zero, President Obama quickly recalibrated his remarks on Saturday, a sign that he has waded into even more treacherous political waters than the White House had at first realized.
Check this out:
“I was not commenting, and I will not comment, on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there,” Mr. Obama said. “I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That’s what our country is about.”
But the locus of putting a mosque "there" is the precise nature of the controversy.
He is pretending this is the first mosque in America?
There are mosques all over our country.
This indignity and disrespect by the Muslims should be vehemently protested and it should be the final nail in the coffin of the political career of Barack Hussein Obama.
Along with, I might add, the political aspirations of Charlie Crist:
"...Alex Sink, the Democratic candidate for governor here, distanced herself, while Gov. Charlie Crist, a Republican-turned-independent, defended the president."
