The National Catholic Reporter is right on a breaking story that there's cracks in the ranks of the bishops.
Bishop Blaire of Stockton California is reporting that the bishops he contacted have concerns about the current stratagem of religious freedom. And, they knew just who to drop the dime to: The heretical rag America Magazine.
Coincidence? I think not!
I love it when these folks caricature themselves as non-political and bipartisan and with the same breath use the political adjective 'very far to the right' and 'anti-Obama' to caricature faithful Catholics, who, you know, will have to shut down their businesses rather than perform an evil upon uncatechized or distraught employees.
Anyway, much ado about nothing. Blaire's blither really isn't all that controversial. He affirms that even the crowd of hooligans he runs with very strongly support whatever action needs to be taken to subvert Obama's intrusion of government into the Church.
Is that the best they could tee up?
Color me unimpressed.
This man could earn a lesson from Cardinal O'Malley on what to do when the communists are banging down the door to seize the Catholic Church: Grab a lawnmower and run like hell.

Bishop Blaire is favored to receive the coveted and regressive "Profiles in Cowardice" award. He has a date with Caroline Kennedy at the JFK library in his future.
Fr. Sirico refuted the story of Bishop Blair on Raymond Arroyo's "World Over" last evening (Thursday). He said it was "an invented story". Fr. Sirico is very reliable.
The propoganda machine at America Mag never rests ;)

Fr.Sirico isn't reliable. Please read this brief by Randy Engel and be prepared to say, "this is as bad as Boston. http://www.romancatholicreport.com/id119.html
CRAP....is this for real about Fr. Sirico???? Why does EWTN have him on regularly?
Susan, if you're refering to the Sirico Brief, it is indeed accurate. Randy Engels is the authoress of "The Rite Of Sodomy" a book about sodomy in general and its impact and influence in the Catholic Church. If you want to read some articles or buy some books by her about this unpleasant subject, go to her website at http://www.newengelpublishing.com/
BTW, it's interesting that Mark Shea went out of his way several years ago to have lunch with Fr. Siroco, a man he had to know was a queer activist in him home town. Now, several years later, Mark is posting faggot friendly articles on his CAEI site. If you find that hard to believe, go to CAEI and put Perry Lorenzo into the search engine. For an excellent analysis of Shea's drivel, go to http://catholicintl.com/index.php/latest-news and read the post about his Sheaness coming out of the theological closet. There are also two articles blasting the moronic you can be Catholic and Gay concept that's being pushed by some supporters of El Marko. FWIW, I believe Mark Shea has destroyed his creditability as a Catholic apologist forever by posing these articles.
Steve D.,
Thanks for posting the link re: Fr. Sirico. I remember reading a lot of this background in the magazine "Culture Wars" a few years back. That article went into detail concerning Sirico's very close links to well heeled libertarian and neo-conservative money men and idealogues. It outlined Sirico's ties with "Smooth it Away" Mark Shea. It is always troubling when Shea pops up as a close ally.
If Father Sirico has repented of his past gay ways---why has his biography been wiped clean? He could be an effective advocate for those who have emerged from the culture of death's homosexual lifestyle into the fullness of Christian hope.
I'm also troubled by Raymond Arroyo's close ties with the neo-conservative elites in D.C.
breathnach, I'm 100% skeptical about 'Fr.' Sirico repentance from sodomy. The fact that he wiped his biography clean of his sodomite past serves to reenforce it.
But even if I wasn't skeptical of of his repentance, why was he ordained a priest? Vatican directives issued in the early 1960's make it quite clear that no one with this disorder is to be ordained a priest. Yet he was ordained! Why was he ordained? Who smoothed the way for his ordaination, in spite of the Vatican directive?
Steve...thanks for all the info. I've known the lunacy of M. Shea for a while now, but this Fr. Sirico thing is just stunning. How on earth did he ever get ordained??? I'm all for repentance and forgiveness, but his background is waaaay too entrenched in the world of perversion...leather and bondage and S&M??? Dear God, how did he ever get ordained....and how is he one of EWTN's premier go-to guys???? just when I think I can't be anymore gobsmacked.... Lord have mercy!
...oh yeah, and thanks for the link to the Bellarmine Roport....it's going on my favorites list.
Steve: I read about Sirico a long time ago. And everyone thinks Randy Engel is crazy ;)
"everybody thinks Randy Engel is crazy." Maria, who is "everybody?" Is "everybody" the members of the lavender underground in the American Catholic Church? Is "everybody" the Vatican II crowd that believes the church underwent a renewal starting in the 60's? Is "everybody" the pewsitters who stick their heads in the sand claiming nothing is wrong? I'd like to know who this "everybody" person is Maria, so I can ask him/her some questions to straighten this thing ot.
Also Maria, have you ever read Engel's articles or books? They are meticulosly documented. Pretty good work for a "crazy" person. Especially the Sirico Brief. That the hierarchy of our church ordained this fruit is the real "crazy".
Thanks so much for this article. I have been doing research on how to become a minister for my cousin. Somehow I came across your article. I really enjoyed reading this. Thanks so much for the post.
