Send a Catholic to the Jesuits and they will commit grand larceny of salvation

Here's a young man who has the decency to be honest about the product of Jesuits at Boston College.

You didn't 'lose it son, you were robbed.

This kid is a self-satisfied twit. He refuted St. Thomas Aquinas in between keg parties. He absorbed every agenda item in the secularist handbook and can parrot all the pop-atheist catchphrases. The entire Western intellectual tradition went down the pooper and was replaced by the drivel from a non-existent discipline known as "Evolutionary Economics"! St. Edmund Campion, the English Reformation and North American Jesuit Martyrs didn't die for this.

He was a Methodist which means he was outside the One True Faith anyways. He seems to be a thinking sort. Hopefully as he matures he'll realize that atheism is a dead-end.

This "kid" is a young adult who is dealing with the great questions. Sure, he's "self-satisfied." Now. It's not at all unusual for any young adult to deal with these questions and come up with his answer. In fact, I submit it's common and almost to be expected. He doesn't really yet have enough life experience to put such things in perspective. Blindly accepting and not thinking about God is the easy way. He's taken the harder road and has come up with the initial answer. (Let's face it: Virgin Birth? Crucifixion? Resurrection? True Eucharistic Presence? If you think about them they are a bit hard to swallow)

But, if the Jesuits really did their job, he'll continue to think about these questions; internalize them; apply life and a greater world view to them. Wisdom and faith go hand-in-glove. He'll be back, and stronger for it.

The "Ignatian Tradition" bellowed by the powers that be at Boston College was abandoned long ago. This callow youth has imbibed deeply the Secularist, Conformist Dogma of post-modernity-the actual mission statement of Boston College.

Unfortunately, he is not dealing with the "great questions". As the great Eric Voegelin explained, questions are shuffled aside and replaced by ideology. This lad is happily regurgitating the rote responses of ideology. It's sad that he is so self satisfied that he feels confident in having his shallow mental gestures published in the student newspaper. He mentions Nietzsche. Nietzsche wrote of the phenomenon of this shallowness: "der letzte Mensch", the last man. It is an instructive parable of the emptiness at the root of the coming nihilist society.

Yes, ideology and rote opining can be overcome by the reality of life experiences. However, our depraved, hyper-secularist culture makes even facing reality difficult. The fantasy of ideology can blind even great minds, not to mention callow youths.

Anonymous,

There is no excuse for this outcome.

Not every 'kid' rejects God. Check out homeschooled 'kids'.

We send our children to school and they are brainwashed. We send them to CCD and Fr. Foolish has hired people to teach it who reject Church teaching and teach the 'kids' to reject it.

Catholic schools are training camps for Catholic evangelists. Every subject and every lesson is intended to be presented with logic and truth of the Catholic Church.

Catholic schools are not a substitute for substandard education at public schools.

The Jesuits were supposed to show this 'kid' the beauty of the truth. They were supposed to evangelize and convert.

We all know what they are doing at Boston College. This is the outcome. This is their fruit.

If they had the truth in them, they would be appalled, ashamed, scared at the outcome of their education.

They don't give a crap.
