Obama's healthcare bill is a loaded gun

Federal funding of abortion and other major problems with Obama's draft.

The Obama plan also violates his pledge to Congress and the American people that his version of health care reform would not force taxpayers to fund abortions.

In a September nationally-televised speech to Congress, Obama sought to clear up projections from pro-life advocates that his health care plan would fund abortions.

"One more misunderstanding I want to clear up -- under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions," Obama claimed.

Under the Senate health care bill that will be the main bill Obama and Democrats push through Congress, there is no ban on abortion funding. Wile some states can opt out of funding abortions under the plan, taxpayers in other states will be forced to pay for them.

But the bill contains other pro-abortion problems that are concerns for pro-life advocates.
The bill requires that at least one health care plan be promoted across the country that pays for abortions, more abortion funding would come via the affordability credits, and many of the so-called limits on abortion funding in the Senate bill are temporary and could expire or be overturned at a later date.

The Senate health care bill also pays for abortions under the Indian Health Service program.

And it contains the Mikulski amendment that would allow the Obama administration to define abortion as preventative care and force insurance plans to pay for abortions.

Finally, the Senate bill does not contain language needed to offer full conscience protection for pro-life medical workers and facilities.

Sister Carol Keehan: Every Christmas Story Has a King Herod

As the USCCB was lobbying to stop the passage
of the life-threatening socialized medicine Bill on Christmas Eve, saying it “violates the longstanding federal policy against the use of federal funds for elective abortions and health plans that include such abortions—a policy upheld in all health programs covered by the Hyde Amendment as well as in the Children’s Health Insurance Program, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program—and now in the House-passed ‘Affordable Health Care for America Act,’” -- Sister Carol Keehan and the initiative she set up to to whore for the abortion industry in healthcare, (under the auspices it is Catholic) were executing the orders for slaughtering of the innocents.

Catholic scholars say their statement reflects a different application of church teachings against “cooperation with evil,” a calculus that the legislation offers a way to extend health insurance to millions of Americans. For the Catholic hospitals, that it is both a moral and financial imperative, since like other hospitals they stand to gain from reducing the number of uninsured patients....

“We have known for quite some time that the Catholic hospitals and also the nuns are really breaking from these hard-line bishops and saying, ‘This really is our goal: to get more people into health care coverage,’ ” said Representative Diana DeGette, Democrat of Colorado.

National healthcare that will withhold treatment to seriously sick and old and our country's poorest of the poor. Yes, we must watch out for those nuns. If you're ever terminally ill or spending your last days on earth getting palliative care in a full hospital and you see them coming with a needle to open up your bed for tomorrows tonsillectomy, know they have the goals of getting more people into healthcare coverage - bless their hearts.

The most offensive part of these developments is only known to prolifers on the frontlines of the trenches in the defense of life: The formula for "cooperation with evil" is the brainchild of Cardinal O'Malley, Cardinal McCormick, and others, who were possibly given their lethal licenses from the National Catholic Bioethics Center. Though, Cardinal O'Malley and his corrupt henchmen at the Boston Chancery refused to release the NCBC report, O'Malley's publicity stunt in the public square made it appear as if the NCBC gave him the green light to create an entity to hire abortionists and drive women to them and enter into the lucrative contracts at just the right arms length.

And in practical political terms, some Democrats — including some opponents of abortion rights — say that the Catholic hospitals’ relative openness to a compromise could play a pivotal role by providing political cover for Democrats who oppose abortion to support the health bill. Democrats and liberal groups quickly disseminated the association’s endorsement along with others from the nuns’ group, other Catholics and evangelicals.

In February, the Vatican launched an Apostolic Visitation to find the religious impostors among US Catholic Religious.

There's a game played at the Vatican that reminds me of the scene from Casablanca when Rick Blaine shoots and kills Major Strausser so Victor Laszlo and Ilsa can board the get-away plane. Captain Renault, knowing full well "who done it" sends his troops out on a wild goose chase to "round up the usual suspects".

With millions of lives at risk for being cruelly terminated prematurely, they had two years of watching Sister Carol Keehan lobbying in the public square to create a perfect race for Obama, the socialists and abortion industry right on television, the newspapers and the internet and several of us sent the papertrails to Rome.

To permit Sr. Carol Keehnan to erect this concentration camp in the public square under the name Catholic while the Vatican is pretending they're looking under beds for religious impostors who threaten Catholicism and life itself, is a monument to their lack of sincerity.

The third and fourth Bishops in Ireland have resigned this week - and the fifth is trying to hold onto his See and his reputation in the wake of the horrific coverups. Aiding and abetting rapists and murderers is a compromise that's unacceptable.

Indignation when people get caught with the long papertrails of coverups, dog and pony shows about how they've turned a new leaf, they're proactively looking for the usual suspects -- it is getting old and tired.

Sr. Carol Keehan is a menace to the lives of children, the sick and the poor. She's actively participating in turning the country over to the death panels. She's as treacherous to the lives of children as Mengale in the Second World War.

What price will we all pay for the Vatican's coddling of treacherous people wearing their costumes of habits and collars?

In the meantime, the children of people who trust the Bishops of Massachusetts and New Hampshire are as safe as the taxicabs leaving Caritas Hospitals heading for the abortionists O'Malley hired - and the National Catholic Bioethics Center "blessed".

God help us all.

Massive Mobilization of Catholics to Oppose "Health Care" that Will Kill Us All from....the Bishops!

Kicking things up ten notches at the USCCB

An E-mail directive has been sent from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Pro-Life Activities Secretariat mobilizing every parish in the United States of America. It contains an urgent message which is to be distributed in every parish this weekend and announced at every single Mass. This massive and urgent appeal may be unprecedented in our history as Catholics in America. It is an effort to mobilize the Catholic faithful on an urgent matter of public policy concerning the fundamental and foundational human right to life.

And if you think that's shocking, get this:

The E-Mail specifically asks that no parish opt out of this initiative.

Obama's Socialized Medicine - Yes We Can

Obama and Pelosi are (surprisingly) having trouble convincing Democrats that Obamacare means everybody will have the best healthcare money can buy, nobody will have to pay for it and everybody wants this. Things started to fall apart when it was leaked in the press that paying folks would not be able to hold onto their current insurance - our health plans would all be controlled by Obama.

When Obama adds fifty million more people to the healthcare system, it will cost us less money than it does now and in fact, at the breaking point, healtchcare will start "paying for itself".

That's amazing.

When they buy a new MRI machine and twenty or so million more people get referred to use it, the machine will pay for itself.

Must be another brainchild of Barney Frank's? Everyone will just stop paying for things they buy and the wizards will come up with another stimulus package to write off the debt. Nobody will remember Joe Biden's acknowledgment that they were way off on their projections in the housing fix, will they?

In any event, they've got this figured out. It's going to cost a trillion dollars in the first ten years to take on 50 million more people. Somewhere there's a pot of money being wasted.

I shouldn't say figured out. It's all conjecture - but, they'll find it, don't you worry. The medical supply companies and drug companies and doctors will forfeit their profits. Something like that.

What Congress is debating with increasing intensity, up against Obama's hope of getting both houses of Congress to pass a measure before their August recess, is how to cover this $1 trillion price tag. Opponents of the emerging plans were emboldened last week by a report from the Congressional Budget Office that showed the plans would not accomplish their stated goal of significantly reducing federal health spending. However, the plans that Congress handed Douglas Elmendorf, the head of the CBO, have yet to include some of the bolder proposals that will curb costs.

Finding any savings to pay for the reforms is bound to anger someone, which is why Congress has yet to confront all the details about where to cut. "Waste is income for other people," says Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research in Washington. "When you find the waste -- and there's much, clearly -- that's all income for someone, whether it's the drug companies, the medical supply industry, doctors who might be paid too much for some procedures. Every single one has someone behind it who will fight to their last breath to keep Congress from taking them away."

Educated people know where they'll find "waste". Like every other reformation of healthcare in every other country, "waste" is rationing health care. Your mother has stage III cancer - they're not going to waste resources to treat her - at 62, she could be a goner. Your baby is born at 34 weeks and needs neonatal care? Sorry, not wasting resources.

Obama Administration officials are saying it in every way there is to say it and the mainstream media is not paying attention.

In his speech to the American Medical Association, President Obama said what White House health advisor Ezekiel Emanuel and Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag have said in print some time ago. The only way to control health care costs is to get doctors to provide less care — fewer tests, fewer procedures, fewer everything. Of course, the Administration wants to eliminate only that care that is "unnecessary.

Clearly the Administration does not consider doctors the best judge of what people need. The obvious end game: Washington will tell doctors how to practice medicine....

If health care is to be rationed, what's the right way to do it? Zeke Emanuel (who is also the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel) wrote an entire article on this subject in the Lancet on January 31, 2009. Emanuel advocated allocating health resources in order to maximize collective life years. Suppose a 25-year-old and a 65-year-old have a life threatening disease. Since the 25-year-old has many more potential years of life ahead of him, he should receive preferential treatment, says Emanuel. He justifies denying care to elderly patients in the following way:

The complete lives system discriminates against older people…. Unlike allocation by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination; every person lives through different life stages rather than being a single age. Even if 25-year-olds receive priority over 65-year-olds, everyone who is 65 years now was previously 25 years.

There's more. In a different article written more than 10 years ago for the Hastings Center Report, Emanuel said health services should not be guaranteed to "individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens." He continues, "An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia."

After an internal squabble that fractured the American Medical Association, doctors have started to publicly mobilize against it.

Some doctors charge the bill will lead to inferior patient care as physician offices around the country triple their patient lists and become forced to ration care.

"This is war," Dr. George Watson, a Kansas physician and president-elect of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons, told FOXNews.com Thursday. "This is a bureaucratic boondoggle to grab control of health care. Everything that has been proposed in the 1,018 page bill will contribute to the ruination of medicine."

Abortion is starting to be a tar baby for advancing socialized medicine.

...another group of Democrats and Republicans held a news conference Wednesday to call for an explicit ban on funding.

In a Tuesday night interview, President Barack Obama claimed he does not want abortion funding in the final health care bill Congress may send him. The issues of taxpayer-funding of abortions and mandates on abortion coverage are unifying pro-life groups in a massive effort to amend or halt the legislation.

They're not ruling it out, they're not ruling it in, they think medical doctors should determine it - but the President doesn't want abortions covered. Noooooo. So if abortion shows up in the package, just remember that it wasn't Obama's idea, somebody else made THAT decision.

For those who enjoy intellectual dishonesty, there's a good debunking of Obama's magical and free healthcare here, written by Bobby Jindal along with some common sense guidelines and principles in a reformation.

Should be an interesting few weeks as the push goes on before summer recess. If we don't pass his healthcare reform package, it will be Helter Skelter.

Give us a break.
