Robert Gates Communication Strategy Advice to Tom Donilon

Boston Catholics are captivated by the national security leak scandal in the Obama Administration. Tom Donilon, whose brother Terry is communications director for the Archdiocese of Boston, is now being widely reported as the likely source of the leaks.

Earlier this week, we lit a candle for former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, when reports of his outburst to Tom Donilon issuing a new strategic communications approach, rang a very familiar bell. Every time Boston Catholics open the newspaper and read a quote from his brother, it is murmured in homes and rectories throughout the Commonwealth.

Tom Donilon's strategy, as I see it, was to leak details making Obama's White House operation look like the headquarters of La Costra Nostra. The intention was to make Obama look like a hero.

Republicans kill terrorists: bad
Democrats kill terrorists: good.

Strategy backfired. Bigtime.

The feathers appear to be hitting the fan.

A word to the wise:

If a phone call comes into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with communications advice on strategic damage control, originating from Boston, suggesting the creation of a blog posting hundreds pictures of Obama at pot luck suppers and fru fru events, send out amber alerts with Robert Gates advice and hang up the phone.

The apples do not fall far from the tree.

Catholic Bloggers Aim to Purge Dissenters

Very nice article by Rachel Zoll on the new Catholic apostolate on the internet.

The blog "Bryan Hehir Exposed" is aimed at a top adviser to Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley, the Rev. J. Bryan Hehir, who is the former head of national Catholic Charities and a professor at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government. Among the bloggers' claims is that Hehir is a Marxist sympathizer who undermines Catholic teaching on abortion and marriage.
Hehir, who has advised church leaders for four decades, hasn't responded to any accusations and neither has O'Malley, a Capuchin Franciscan friar known for his humility. However, O'Malley said in April on his own blog that Hehir "inspires us with his compassion, vision and fidelity to the work of the Church." In August, O'Malley blocked access from archdiocesan headquarters to one of the critical blogs, the anonymously penned Boston Catholic Insider.

Not only has Cardinal O'Malley done nothing about the 40 years of dissent and scandal being chronicled on BHE, he is going out of his way to protect him.

The same flaw that has brought the Roman Catholic Church to its knees is still deeply entrenched in Boston.  When a Cardinal gets wind of scandals, they bunker down to protect the perpetrator; and

"The lack of civility is very disturbing," said Terrence C. Donilon, the archdiocesan spokesman.

they engage in smear campaigns.

We are disturbing their civilization of corruption and ineptitude.

By the way, with all of the things Voice of the Faithful has said and done including outrageous malice incited inside of every parish for priests, Bishops and the teachings of the Church, bringing in all kinds of heretics and apostates to mislead Catholics on doctrine, circling parishioners who went in and out of services, disrupting Liturgies -- did you ever hear Terry Donilon or anyone for the Archdiocese say that these people were disturbing and uncivilized?

There was never anything but gushing praise and promises to 'work together'.

Cardinal O'Malley and his administration are hostile to Catholics faithful to doctrine.   I'm sorry to say it but it what it is.

"There's an old saying: Once you become a bishop, you never get bad news or a bad meal," said Carol McKinley, 53, a Boston-area blogger who named her site "The Tenth Crusade." "Not a single bishop will look at the whole. They enjoy their ignorance."
Critics of the bloggers contend the activists are motivated mostly by politics, not theology. The blogs feature nearly as many attacks on President Barack Obama as church leaders. McKinley's site, until recently, was called "Throwthebumsoutin2010," in anticipation of the midterm elections.

By the way, my comment about "not a single bishop will look at the whole" was in the context of the whole Body of Bishops at the USCCB.

After the sexual abuse crisis, there were explicit promises to be watchdogs to their brother bishops.   They promised to make sure their colleagues are engaging in ethical practices and they pledged to hold each other's feet to the fire.

I was expressing my frustration at this broken promise.

But there are many good Bishops who are paying attention in their own dioceses.   Bishop Chaput, Bishop Vasa, Bishop Nienstedt (who is cleaning house!) and many, many others.

For those of us trapped in a diocese that is corrupt, experiencing the willful ignorance and clericalism in the Body of Bishops, it does not speak well to those of us who wanted to believe that a Bishop would never get away with what is happening in Boston.

When things are imploding from the scandals at the Chancery, the days of sweeping things under the rug to keep the public image of the Bishop looking stellar are behind us.

However, the conservative Catholic activists insist their faith, especially church teaching on abortion, inspires all their work.
Catholic officials are struggling to come to terms with the bloggers and have organized several recent media conferences on the topic, the latest at the Vatican this month. The U.S. bishops' conference issued social media guidelines in July calling for Christian charity online.
Still, no one expects the Catholic blogosphere to change tone anytime soon. Many of the conservatives most active online had spent years raising the alarm about dissent on their own in their local dioceses without much effect. Now, they feel they are finally being heard online.
"There's a general sense among many faithful Catholics that no matter how much they write their bishops, no matter how much they go to the pastors, all of these unfaithful things keep getting taught," Voris said. "I think enough Catholics are saying, 'That's it. I've had it.'"

We have done everything feasible within Cardinal O'Malley's administration.  It has been perfectly clear that Cardinal O'Malley is hostile to Faithful Catholics.

We are taking our whistleblowing public and gearing up the activists to take our parishes and Chancery back from the employees hostile to Catholic doctrine.

It is happening all over the country.

Kudos to Zoll for being on top of this cutting edge story.

Sham Searches - Terry Donilon - Archdiocese of Boston

Boston Catholic Insider is featuring some very disturbing information on the hiring of Terry Donilon by the Archdiocese of Boston.

Donilon Sham Part 1

Donilon Sham Part 2

I was catching up a few days ago with a local defender of the faith and we were sharing information about the corruption at 66 Brooks Drive.   When I gave him some inside information on the Connors/Hehir/Kaneb dictatorship, he said - ever so sincerely:  "You  can't keep up with it.   You would need 100 full time people on staff just taking in and processing the information on the corruption"

Be sure to read some of the comments in the thread.

In other Boston communications news, a group called 2100 Trust said they were going to make a bid for the Boston Globe.     Connors claims he is not part of the initiative.  Well, that's not exactly what he said when you look at his statement.

Boston adman Jack Connors said he is not part of the current bidding effort.
The 2100 Trust is still rounding up Investors.  Doesn't mean Connors won't be part of the bidding effort tomorrow or the next day.   We have our moles strategically placed and will let you know more when the pieces are put together.

If it's true that Connors isn't in the game, could Donilon lose his crony network at the Boston Globe?

Tomorrow's Marxists Conference

Do me a favor?

Call the Nuncio's Office today.

Be respectful.

Tell him two priests who have spent their lives undermining the teachings of the Church and misleading souls are holding a conference in spite of the pleadings of hundreds of Catholics in Boston  asking the Cardinal to stop it.

Tell him we are being robbed of our inheritance and scandalized and we are finished being ignored.

Tell him there is a crusade underway and we are not going to stop until the culture of clericalism protecting people doing harm collapses.

You'll find the instructions on Bryan Hehir Exposed.

***UPDATE

Everyone who reads the Boston Catholic blogging community is familiar with the name Terry Donilon.   Terry is Cardinal O'Malley's Cabinet Secretary for Communications.

Earlier today, Barack Hussein Obama appointed Terry's brother Thomas Donilon as National Security Advisor.

Isn't that a coincidence?

For a long time, Donilon lived his life from presidential campaign to campaign.
The Democratic operative worked on his first Democratic National Convention at 24, and he’s been helping elect candidates ever since. He has worked for Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Joseph R. Biden.
He has also served in policy roles, working as assistant secretary of state for public affairs and as former Clinton secretary of State Warren Christopher’s chief of staff. In that role, Donilon was intimately involved in many major foreign policy issues, including negotiating the Bosnian peace agreement and the expansion of NATO.
He was a registered lobbyist from 1999 through 2005, and his sole client was Fannie Mae.
Donilon worked as a member of President Barack Obama’s transition team, where he vetted potential State Department officials.(1)

Coincidentally, Tom Donilon's wife Cathy Russell is Chief of Staff for Vice President Joe Biden's wife Jill.

Tom and Terry Donilon have another brother named Mike Donilon.

I know what you're thinking.  There couldn't be another coincidence.

But indeed there is.

Mike Donilon, a lawyer and political consultant was appointed as Counsel to Vice President Joe Biden.

Name a prominent Democratic official and chances are Donilon has worked for them. The Georgetown law graduate has been strategizing for congressional candidates, governors and presidential hopefuls for more than two decades. He has on the campaigns of President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore and Sen.John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) among others.
Now, Donilon is hanging up his campaign hat to work for one of his oldest and closest allies: Vice President Joseph R. Biden, who he met in 1981. Donilon was Biden’s travelling adviser during the 2008 general election and was named counselor in the vice president’s office in November 2008.
His brother, Thomas Donilon, is deputy national security adviser to President Obama. The two Donilons used their joint political muscle to help derail the 1987 Supreme Court nomination of Robert Bork.

(BTW - note that Thomas Donilon was also a strategy wizard for Fannie Mae before its collapse?)

You know who advised Cardinal O'Malley to appoint Terry Donilon to his cabinet?

Bryan Hehir.

Terry Donilon was a former press secretary to proabort Bruce Sundlun.   The next natural step would of course be a press secretary for a Catholic Cardinal.

Cardinal O'Malley taking a look at all these credentials jumped at the opportunity to appoint a member of the Donilon family as Cabinet Secretary for Communication.

Maybe the Cardinal overlooked all the work the Donilon family has been doing for decades to advance the culture of death because he saw Donilon's previous experience as press secretary for Shaw's Supermarket on his CV and thought it would come in handy dealing with all the fruits and vegetables in the Chancery.

Are you getting the picture of what's going down here in Boston?

There's a reason why the Cardinal is not intervening in the scandals Bryan Hehir is creating.    What could the reason be?

We need to keep the phone calls, faxes and meeting requests going to the Nuncio and the Holy See.

Spread the word.
