Recent events in Florida demonstrate not only the present Pope's active commitment to Catholic reform, but the willingness of the Holy See to act on the careful instigation of the lay faithful who petition her for redress of their grievances.
This is the reason why keeping our hand to the plow here in Boston is so critical.
The identity of Catholic schools is not the final frontier for Bryan Hehir's dismantling of the Roman Catholic Church in Boston. Coming soon are revelations of the agenda of the new pastoral planning committee that echo the matrix of the policy that mandates hostile environments for teaching Catholic sexual ethics and reforming our lives to purity of heart and soul.

We have two choices. We can take the actions necessary to stop them in their tracks here in Boston so that this will not spread, or we can let them put the finishing touches on the farce they are erecting in place of the Catholic Church and it will infest other dioceses.
A lot of work has gone into simplifying it for you. Please help us get the message to Rome. Sadly, when you are reporting corruption, numbers matter.
Every family has a relative or two that entertains the children with innocuous "magic" tricks. At some point we realize Uncle Nick can't really pull the top of his thumb off or pull nickels out of his ear. At some point, we realized anyone can mesmerize a four year old with tricks by using a little distraction and quick motions.
It's about what your audience doesn't see.
Though I've always been troubled that what's seeded in "magic tricks" is the desire to make people think you have supernatural powers, early in my parenting, I had respect for people who were doing amazing things with distraction and movement.
Thankfully, somebody somewhere in my life had warned me about magic can sometimes take the innocuous too far. No doubt I thanked the individual and walked away thinking the poor thing was wrapped too tight because I did not heed the warning until one day when sitting with my oldest watching David Copperfield. He did a few enjoyable little tricks and it all was going well. Then he did a few more...things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Then, he went out into the street with his audience and made several buildings disappear. "Yowza. Divination. See you later dude". (As is typical with me, God has to make things ridiculous before I acquiesce and bend my knee.)
What does this have to do with J. Bryan Hehir?
The inherent dangers to passing on our faith to our children in this diocese Hehir is conjuring up can't be seen by the regular audience.
Catholics are a group of people who surrender their desires out of their love for Christ.
Like a husband who loves his wife too much to respond to his attraction to his next door neighbor, we are too much in love with Christ to follow our wild libidos.
Fr. Hehir is burdened by the truths of our faith. He's spent his life counseling people on how to avoid the Cross.
The Crucifix is an albatross to him, and to society at large. He's been at the USCCB, the Kennedy School of Government, Catholic Charities and within the Archdiocese of Boston training people how to reject the Cross. Sleeping around, killing your children or other people's children is necessary in this pluralistic society. Catholics, after all, cannot infringe on the rights of other people to decapitate infants alive. Why, the entire social justice system would collapse.
I know several Catholics who (formerly) used him as a spiritual guide and confessor. When you need to arrest the urge to be faithful to Christ, J. Bryan Hehir has a bag of tricks he's developed for 40 years.
In Boston, ground zero for an all out assault on Christendom and the Catholic Church, Bryan Hehir is working with the National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management to restructure the Catholic Church in America.
He's destroyed our ability to lobby. He is shutting down our ability to be doctors, nurses or serve in any capacity in medicine. He has cleaned out the Chancery of people faithful to doctrine. Our priests loyal to the Magisterium have been threatened and silenced. He is working on a 'policy' that changes Catholic schools from academies that train Catholic evangelists to places where priests will be prohibited to deny admission to children of parents who oppose the faith and make it clear they want the teachings of the Church silenced. He has threatened to cut off funding to every Catholic school who does not comply with his policy. (BTW - more on this later - but remember the Hingham mother who called the teachings of the Church 'discriminatory' to her and her same sex partner? --Bishop Dooher has arranged to have the faith shut down at a Catholic school in Weymouth so what is being taught as Catholic sexual morals the sniff test of the two mommies).

The bloggers have released their emails to Fr. Erikson. Do take the time to read them. They are quite powerful and uplifting.
The objectives of the proposed meeting have been, and remain, elusive.
Frankly, I think the Cardinal and his Cabinet are underestimating the interests and objectives of Catholics who see this period in the history of the Archdiocese, as one commenter rightfully characterized it, as "the turn the tables over in the Temple moment".
Clericalism that pervaded a period in history where Cardinals and their underlings coddled perverts and pedophiles is one and the same with the clericalism that pervades the current administration in the Cathedra of Boston: The bullying of clerics and lay people who want sexually active priests defrocked, and priests teaching sexual promiscuity removed.
We are up to our neck in bullies running the Archdiocese of Boston. Fr. Hehir's 40 year history of dissent now being cataloged at BHE is a threat to this administration. The Pope appears to be ignorant of what is going on in Boston due to the corrupt at the Vatican, whom everyone knows is an obstacle to getting the truth in front of the Pope. The corrupt continue to be successful in shielding and protecting the sexual (and abortion) mafioso on the ground in every diocese.
This is not acceptable reform.

In a conference call with the bloggers last evening, (a few of whom want to move forward with the meeting with the archdiocese), I was frank about the font of skepticism springing forth from my interpretation of Fr. Erikson's email and the history of how the Cardinal handles meetings when people of good faith present him with trails of evidence of dissent and scandal.
I know of your convictions based on what you write in the blog. I hope our conversation would give you a broader frame of reference for future blog entries.
Actually, I think we know the convictions of the Cardinal and his team of advisors based upon what he writes on his blog, says in the newspaper and the power structure he has set up based upon these convictions.
What is the basis for any frame of reference that they are interested in bringing dissenters into conformity with the teachings of the Church so that those being taught misguided precepts will be brought into a state of grace? I don't see a shred of evidence there is consideration on the table regarding the objective to remove dissenters putting rings on their noses of practicing Catholics and leading them onto the road of perdition.
What we are after ( i.e., getting these misguided Catholics onto the road to salvation), has not been part of the tactical reforms coming out of the Chancery.
For example, when Fr. Hehir was a participant in the Booty Call Conference with Bishop Lynch (who for some "strange" reason was not removed from his position when a complaint of unwanted sexual misconduct was brought forth against him - the zero tolerance of unwanted sexual misconduct doesn't apply to Bishops policy) - the Cardinal called a chit in at the Vatican so he could post an entry on his blog about what an asset Fr. Hehir is to him and to Mother Church. It was an indirect and cowardly insult to the truth being chronicled at BHE.
Nobody would argue that Ted Kennedy, God rest his soul, inherited the right to a dignified private funeral in the Catholic Church. Instead, we got a political event in the Sanctuary sanctifying abortion and sexual immorality. Not to mention a lot of talk about "mercy" to grant themselves license to give a podium to the cast of characters - characters who have misled hundreds of thousands of people to their spiritual and physical death. They lined up Kennedy's family and approved testimony riddled with dissent and witness that the funeral, worthy of Catholic saint, with the Catholic Cardinal blessing the event, was the fruit of how Ted's played out 'faithfulness' to the precepts of the Catholic Church.
Catholics pointing out that the damages of this charade would be the false conviction that spending your life working for the "freedom" to decapitate infants alive does not impede our salvation - he dismissed as people doing a disservice to the Church, as he did when we released information that he had set up an abortion business through Caritas.
Meanwhile, as reported on Boston Catholic Insider, back at the Archdiocese of Boston clericalism dude ranch, priests selling sex in Catholic Sanctuaries are flourishing and empowered. Fr. Austin Fleming's and Fr. Hehir's ideas are seen as so consistent with truth, as the Cardinal sees it, they are given their own gig at BTCV. Fr. Cuenin, Fr. Josoma, Fr. Ron Coyne and other dissenters are Cardinal O'Malley's circle of advisors.
We have had meetings.
In fact, I have personally asked several times for a meeting with Fr. Hehir and have been declined.
We have sent letters and faxes.
We have taken the trail to the Nuncio.
We have sent the trail to the Vatican.
What was the result?
Cardinal O'Malley was appointed by the Pope to "fix" another diocese and Fr. Hehir was given a podium to receive an honor at the Vatican.
Ladies and gentleman, the time for meetings has passed.
We do not have the structures in place to remove priests and administrators who are selling sex and abortion inside of the Catholic Church.
Unity with people who sell sex and abortion inside of the Catholic Church is not all it is cracked up to be, actually. In fact, the Lord himself has set the enmity between us. We are not going to overcome the enmity in some cheap meeting where Boston bloggers are lined up to listen to their "broad perspectives" about how they want us to blog.
They're hoping we will sell the grace that left a trail of Precious Blood on the Via Dolorosa for a chance to smoke a peace pipe up the Chancery with the people leading souls into the crevices of Dante's Inferno?
Thanks but no thanks.
Get to a parish where the truth is taught and the Sacraments administered to faithfully so that we can remain in a state of grace. Strap yourselves onto the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord because the battle within has just begun and the seas are about to get rough.
If you don't get the gist of what I think about a meeting with Fr. Hehir and Fr. Erikson to listen to what they think, I introduce Nancy Sinatra to get the point across in a little jingle:
Time does not permit a post that does "part two" of a series covering the Obama's political thugs who have taken over public policy and the distribution of Catholic doctrine, but I did want to put up a brief update.
Because the current climate in the Archdiocese is threats and intimidation, the people involved in the effort are protecting their identities.
People are scared.
Most orthodox Catholics in Boston who are involved in evangalization and/or defending the faith when dissent is misleading the flock have either been the subject of their smear of tactics and bullying or they know someone who has and supported those individuals through their crucible.
This climate has either frightened people into silence or driven people underground. I'll be telling stories about the conduct of in my series covering the thuggery and buffoonery of the Archdiocese but suffice it to say that they have been effective in frightening people.
This you see is the climate that has got to be "reformed".
The ten years of infomercials from the Catholic hierarchy about supposedly reforming this conduct has been smoke and mirrors. Of course there are people in the hierarchy who are dedicated to real reform. This has not reached the level of the diocese. This is where the reforms have been needed all along.
We have all reached a point here in Boston where we are going to push the cabal out into the public square, come what may.
Ok, it's a crass and unlady like thing to say.....but YOWZA.

And, that's the least craziest thing about this story.
A group calling themselves Christefidelis operated some kind of a Miami Vice sting. Among the things they allege is Archbishop John Favalora and the Catholic Charities of Miami owned several thousand shares of stock for popular liquid aphrodisiac sold in strip joints and gay clubs.
I kid you not. Liquid aphrodisiac.
I didn't even know there was such a thing.
Imagine sleeping with an individual you actually have to drink something in order to turn the equipment on?
(Though I must confess - this is not as evil as what was done in Boston under the Cardinal O'Malley regime - the killing of the children of the poor in exchange for cash into the diocesan coffers....I digress.)
Apparently several Catholics in Christefideles sent a report to Rome on the information they were fed about four years ago.
These Catholics are finally able to divulge what has taken place since that time.
The aforementioned attorney, Ms. Sharon Bourassa, was contacted by a Vatican monsignor, who met with her in person and assured her that the Holy See would be investigating each and every one of the allegations presented in the report. Ms. Bourassa shared with this monsignor the names and contact information of several confidential eye witnesses, including several priests. Months later, this monsignor contacted her again, informing her that our allegations had all been vindicated, and that Rome was going to act on the report. This was in the late Fall of 2006.
Four years later, Rome has finally acted, and in doing so has vindicated RenewAmerica columnist Matt Abbott, myself, Ms. Bourassa, and all the lay faithful of the Archdiocese who have suffered tremendous persecution and ostracization for defending the integrity of the Catholic Church's doctrine, liturgy, and moral witness.
And we owe a debt of gratitude to our supreme pastor, Pope Benedict XVI.
Four years.
Wow.
While I can't claim to be edified that it took four years and the edict was to ask this Bishop to take an early retirement, I'm very glad that the Catholics who stood up against the "don't tell" culture were supported and vindicated by the Vatican.
Gives a lot of people in Boston "hope". We are probably in for a longer haul than we expected. But, by the Christ, we will all march on exposing Cardinal O'Malley's cabal.
The Vatican has named Bishop Wenski to clean up after this wolf.
It really does make a difference to bring what is going on under the radar into the light. To pack it up and package it all - over and over again. Bring it to everyone's attention. It takes time, an absurd amount of time, but efforts of laity turning up the heat are breaking loose in every diocese.
Pray the Rosary. Fast. Adore, Worship.
Then, buckle up. It's going to be a long bumpy ride.
It seems Bryan Hehir is advising many initiatives that dissent from the teachings of the Church, including the scandalous Boisi Center.
From their website, they say, “The Boisi Center does not seek to advance any ideological agenda…While based in a Jesuit university, it will not take sides in competing groups of Catholic theologians, nor will it defend a specifically Catholic viewpoint against non-Catholic ones.”
Hmm. What’s wrong with this picture? Why would the Archdiocese want one of it’s most senior and apparently influential cabinet members using the credibility of his Archdiocesan official status to advance an agenda that specifically does not defend Catholic viewpoints?
