Birdcage

Cardinal O'Brien has recused himself from the conclave because of allegations of sexual misconduct with priests.

Every cloud has a silver lining:  One less vote for the sissies.

I have a feeling sexual attraction  is going to be a lively topic of discussion.

Cardinal Bertone is upset...Do loose lips sink ships?

The Romans have had an interesting response to the leaking of content on the investigative report on Vatileaks.  They are scrambling to recover their secret pacts to protect their privacy on corruption and their dirty little secrets.

I can't seem to muster up any empathy.  Perhaps there have been just too many victims of it.

I am captivated by the commentary of the ignorance is bliss crowd.  It isn't possible they have no evidence that the elephants are in the room.  Why carry on with the charade that it is gossip.  It is too late for that.

I do not know anyone who really knows whether Cardinal Bertone himself has participated in any of the sick and corrupt practices.

What I can explicitly say is this:  Cardinal Bertone is at the top of this sick empire protecting it.  He has been terrorizing to protect it through the reigns of Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II.

I can say with conviction that I do not know his motives.  It could very well be that he sincerely believes that it is in the best interest of Christ's Church to keep the dirty laundry in the closet.  He could be a completely innocent person who believes the scandal would rock the boat so intensly that his efforts to keep it all secret is servitude to Christ.

The magnitude of problems with his reign of terror include the coverups and rapes of children - and worse - millions of Catholics whose souls have been perverted and handed over to the devil.

The remorse and sadness over the rapes of children is cheapened by the unwillingness to change their practices of protecting corruption.

We see it on every level. From the Holy See to each of our parishes.

Cardinal Bertone is not ready or willing to pin the tail on the elephants.  I doubt he ever will be.

Frankly, none of us really wants or needs the details. But, I doubt Christ is going to let it keep on consuming souls so I am praying that the Conclave has the spinal fortitude to do what must be done to elect a Pope with the strength to put a rock in the slingshot and fire it.

Otherwise, I think the powers inside of the Vatican who are being tortured, tormented and terrorized by it will take matters into their hands and leak more content.

Everyone has had enough of it.  It's going the way of the buffallo.   The only question that remains is, how ugly do they want it to get in the public square.    It matters not to the victims of the regime who have had enough of it.

Cardinal Pell said it best:  The Vatican is no place for a pious fool.

The Reason the Pope Resigned was...

There is no shortage of conspiracies on why the Pope resigned.

This is my fav.

This is what's known in the Boston Catholic blogging community as a... 'no brainer'.

Allegheny College Gives Lenten Lessons to Students

What a despicable and disrespectful witness to the dignity of young students enrolled in their school.

I'm guessing teaching them how to shoot heroine into the veins in the Sanctuary is their Easter Sunday tribute?

Cardinal O'Malley for Pope?

Does John Allen have any other bright ideas?

Carol McKinley for Bishop of Boston.
Barney Frank for CDF.
Joan Chittister for US Nuncio.
Kim Kardashian for Prefect of the Papal Household.

Cardinal O'Malley is so overwhelmed in Boston that he at one point announced he wakes up in the morning wishing God would take him, and there are people we are going to send him to the Chair of Peter which is surrounded by Bertone and his wolves?

I do not have the bandwidth to enumerate the absurdities.  It isn't going to happen.

The devil has been unchained.  We are in deep doo doo.  Guard your soul with vigilence - fast, pray for the Conclave.

The Poverty of Marney Rich Keenan

A shining example of the impoverished women in this culture pining for a Pope who will accept and enscribe licentiousness into Church law.

Good luck with that.

It is a bit like pining for a doctor who sells your syphillis as an aphrodisiac.

A social worker giving drug addicts free crack pipes.

The Church is the institution that Christ bequeathed to guide our souls into Heaven. There are Cardinals who can and are influenced by the devil but their minority is shrinking. That's the funny thing about Christ's Church - as the culture debases and demoralizes itself, the Church strengthens. In every conceivable way.

Marney tells a sorry tale about the exodus of the baptized who have been defiantly sitting in our pews in the hopes of influencing change to Church teaching, chemically sterilized women who have freed themselves from the trappings of self-respect, dignity, morality and sanctifying grace to sleep around with irresponsible men who don't love them enough or respect them enough to marry them, sister sufferagettes of sexcapades volunteering to teach CCD so they can introduce their own defiance and immorality to innocent children, pouting polyester-pantied nuns whose dialogues and vagina monologues have been rebuked---all looking towards Rome for a 'suitable earthly leader'.

Cry me a river.

The magnitude of damage these women have done to generations of children is breathtaking. Our Pope spoke about the damage of their misinterpretations and is expected to continue to address it internally in next few weeks.
“So, dominant and more efficient, this council created many calamities, so many problems, so much misery. In reality, seminaries closed, convents closed, the liturgy was trivialized ... and the true Council has struggled to materialize, to be realized,” he stated.
In his analysis, Pope Benedict said that the virtual council was stronger than the real Council, but the real strength of the Council was present.

“It has slowly emerged and is becoming the real power, which is also true reform, true renewal of the Church,” he said.

“It seems to me that, 50 years after the Council, we see how this virtual council is breaking down, getting lost, and the true Council is emerging, with all its spiritual strength,” he observed to his priests.

“And it is our task to work so that the true Council, with the power of the Holy Spirit, is realized, and the Church is really renewed,” he emphasized.
I suppose they're looking for us to invite their dying culture back but we are as likely to do that as to embrace typhoid.

Admittedly, it is hard to know exactly what to do about the rejection of their egos. I wish there was a way to invite them to learn about the Catholic religion - to understand it.

Been there/done that. Their presence isn't just a presence. They demand the silence of Church teaching and their demands have robbed generations of children from their Deposit of Faith and frankly, their salvation.

We're all done with it.

The Pope's Last Mass at St. Peter's

The sadness in his eyes is moving. He said he could feel our prayers and asked us to continue praying for him, as he prays for us.

A mother who kills her full term child is not a victim.

Janet Baker shares her thoughts on the very dangerous trend of blanketly referring to mothers who have abortions as victims.

There are many situations, perhaps even the majority, when a woman (especially if she is a young woman) is a victim of bullying her into an an abortion. Janet expresses herself beautifully and with great courage. I couldn't agree more. Short of mental retardation or an abusive situation where a woman is taken by force, a mother who kills her full-term child is not a victim - under any circumstances - even if something goes awry with the risky operation and she dies along with her child. This is, of course, a profoundly upsetting outcome, but a woman who calls an abortion clinic to seek counsel on how to end the life of her child, has already made up her mind. An abortion clinic is not the appropriate place to seek counsel and guidance on the morality, ethics, consequences to the child and to one's own soul. A person of good faith who has not made up her mind seeks the counsel of a priest or spiritual director. It is a disservice to women to caricature making an appointment at the abortion clinic and then blame the persons she paid to kill the child as hoodwinking her into it. We have to alert women to the self-deception of making a decision and then seeking out the people whom we know will cheer us on so that we can blame them later on for giving us bum advice. This is how the devil operates when he is using your weaknesses to lure you in and seal the pact. The honorable thing to do is to teach and alert them to these wiles. Women who have been taught and alerted, may recognize what they are doing and stop the locomotive from proceeding full steam ahead. Treating women like imbeceles who would not know that the child they have felt moving inside of their womb for over 20 weeks is a human life; the imprints of the feet, hands elbows, knees she has felt and observed, she could ever be hoodwinked into believing ending the life of her full-term child is anything but murder, is preposterous.

The Pope is Pooped

Like everyone else, my first reaction was ...WHAT?!!  Then... Heart of Jesus gushing Blood and Water as the Font of Mercy, I trust in You.

The Pope was clearly failing, but I thought he would ride out it out until the end.   But he has decided the job needs a person who is more energetic.   Sounds logical to me.    Maybe he wanted to be alive to influence the election of his successor.

We have a lot of praying to do and as our friend Kevin said earlier, get the popcorn!  It is about to get very interesting.

Let the conjecture commence!

Obama's latest 'compromise' on the HSS mandate to murder

The USCCB rejects it.

I truly wonder if the Holy Spirit is trying to convey the message that we only hire and serve Catholics.

Think about it.

We could teach our own religion to our own employees, treat our own people under the guidelines of our own religion, educate our own children without encountering the objections those of other religions whom we so graciously admit to our schools.    Hunker down and prepare the next generation of Catholic evangelists.

Other than the sad abandonment of service to non-Catholics, I think of a downside to this course of action.   In fact, I taste freedom.

Downsize, terminate and expel.  Hunker down into the cavern, educate and convert our own people and prepare the next generation of Catholic evangelists as this perverted administration leads their followers to defile and kill each other.

They will come for us eventually, but their agenda will have no place to veil itself.

The Salvation of the Just Comes From the Lord

Are today's readings not magnificent? Filled with hope and purpose?

Sure, we're kicked around and robbed, but do not lose confidence. We need endurance to do the will of God so that we may merit and receive salvation. Live by the tenets of Christ's Church. Those who do will have life within them. The Lord helps them and delivers them from the wicked.

If we do not live by the Faith, Christ will not take pleasure in us. We have all tasted that one, in some way and at some point in our lives.

I am fascinated by human animus. The amount of attention, energy and discipline it takes to keep dominion over our thoughts, weaknesses and flaws. I cannot imagine going through my day not applying that discipline. Some days are better than others. But boy, does that refuge from ourselves ever hit paydirt.

Thank you Jesus for the Light of the Truth and for the Sacraments that give me the strength to save me from myself.

Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine, secundum verbum tuum in pace: Quia viderunt oculi mei salutare tuum Quod parasti ante faciem omnium populorum: Lumen ad revelationem gentium, et gloriam plebis tuae Israel.

Lord, now you let your servant go in peace; Your word has been fulfilled. My eyes have seen the salvation You have prepared in the sight of every people, A light to reveal you to the nations and the glory of your people, Israel.

Sixteen (16) Boston Chancery Employees Make Four Million Dollars

The fat cats and bureaucrats enriching themselves at the Boston Chancery (as they cry poor mouth and shutter parishes) are in the news this week at Boston Catholic Insider.

The salary of Sister Bathwater is twelve thousand more dollars per year than the salary of a priest who is operating three parishes.

The worst offender - get this - is the 'Secretary of Education', who is making close to Four Hundred Thousand Dollars a year.

They are boarding up Catholic Schools for lack of money, children graduate from high school without knowing their prayers, the teachings of the Church, without knowing the Divinity of Christ in the Eucharist - they wouldn't know the difference between Charlie Sheen and and the men preserving and reserving themselves for God and his wife - and the Secretary of Education draws... a Four Hundred Thousand Dollar salary?

I was also astounded by the salary of the "executive director of lay benefits"  - close to two hundred thousand dollars.   First of all, it's a bit of a bloated title for the lone crackerjack in the benefits office.

I wonder what they call the receptionist..the deputy director of Central Intelligence?

People are worried about unjust enrichment at the Bank of America and Wall Street?

You wonder, after a ten year tab of these sixteen employees: How many additional Churches will be shuttered, how many lay employees and priests will be screwed out of their pensions?

Stay tuned to Boston Catholic Insider as they unravel the stewardship of  donations.

God bless Michael Voris and his staff for picking up on this story:
